ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?! SFML had a depth-buffer, then removed it because Laurent Gomila thought that a 2D library didn't need it.
Except, you DO need it. Sometimes you need to dynamically change the orders in which sprites are drawn, especially for 2.5D games just like what this linked article is talking about.
The article below talks about a solution using OpenGL and a derivative of SFML's vertex arrays, but that seems way too complex for something that should be dead simple. This is part of the reason why SFML will never be on the same level as SDL. I only use it because I have this weird urge to be different....to my own detriment.

LibAlleg does not have a guide on framerate-independent game logic, which makes removing the FPS cap difficult. No worries, I could do multithreading.
Except for some ungodly reason, the renderer is hard-capped at 60 frames per second, agnostic to my own code. This is "120"
I only found this out the hard way when my timescale math inadvertently caused the publisher intro to be twice as long instead of just being double the framerate.
At that time I had not implemented a delta timer because I was relying on Allegro's event timers for pacing, so I had no way of viewing the framerate until I took this screenshot. You can probably imagine the hours I wasted trying to fix my code not realizing what was happening.
*sigh* time to contact the IRC again...
Eh this is by far the weakest one of the new bunch. Extremely generic and carries none of Linkin Park's essence. It just comes across as something that could have been made by anyone. It's a song I've already heard so many times.
I know people have said this about Linkin Park with each new album... I've never been one to talk about that because there was always Linkin Park essence between every single song even if the style was a little different. This new one contains absolutely *nothing*. May as well have been made by your least favorite, blond, corporate-backed industry plant female vocalist.
Bluesky is even more toxic than Twitter. Within the first week, I've had to block or have been blocked by 5+ people because of a minor political disagreement.
Don't shamelessly worship Kamala? You're a Nazi and you want women to be genocide victims, nevermind that Kamala can barely even read, orange man bad
Tons of made-up sob stories too where if you even just ask an honest question you get accused of sexual harassment or transphobia.
I've remained pretty reasonable with people and I constantly have been insulted for no reason by folks who just want to feel better than everyone else.
Also noticeably lacking important features and the mobile client is still poorly glued together. Just don't bother with it guys.
@trollcall test
You've probably guessed this is part of the reason I'm not on here very often. Aside from the overall lack of interesting things to read, you are correct.
I think Mastodon would have a lot less of it's potential as a platform stifled if libtards like the ones at meow.social didn't keep absolutely gargantuan domain-level blacklists, that prevent people who would get along just fine from communicating, based on the assumption that all users from a particular instance are nazis or something.
A friend of mine tried to migrate away from Twitter, and gave up as soon as he realized he had to be on a specific server just to talk to me. Tried to hold his hand through it but he lost interest by that point. Most people have higher expectations for a platform like this to be more unified, and the freedom to shut out whoever you please as the webmaster of your own instance comes at a price.
