@matana JKR is the very definition of "death of the author" with all of the random dumb shit she has added and changed about HP over the years. If it wasn't canon before it would be now anyway and she can always be as revisionist as she wants about anything.
@matana @LukeAlmighty Depends on who I guess
@LukeAlmighty @matana But they often don't hold or push strong political positions. I think it's more due to their ignorance and the overton window being so left wing on social issues.
@LukeAlmighty @matana It's not just SJWs using this argument though. It's also used by centrist types who want to distance themselves from the culture war.
@LukeAlmighty @matana I absolutely hate the people who smugly rebutt this with "It's just fantasy with dragons and magic. Why can't blacks exist in this world?". Are they just stupid or are they misdirecting on purpose?
@matana
Harry: And why aren't there almost any black students?
Dumbledore: Yeah, that... Well, there used to be many more diverse students at Hogwarts, but Merlin solved that issue.
@freemo They don't share the same source material, only a part. Christianity added its own canon which built on top of and retconned Judaism, which imo makes it a new distinct category rather than just an interpretation. An interpretation is just "what did the author actually mean", it doesn't extend the canon.
@rasterman he's that bad
I'm the joke, but you're the punchline.
I run this website. I like posting funnies and fugging lolis.
