@picandor @picandor What's up with companies and these wet-fart apologies as of recently? :akko_huh:
@picandor @picandor It's like they've all hired the same HR department.

@Kerosene @picandor
I am more concerned about the question of:
Why did so many companies became unable to release a stable game?

Every single aspect of game development should have become easier in the last 3 decades. I have seen some single developers do unbelievable shit on their own in a few weeks. This should not be possible.

@LukeAlmighty @Kerosene @picandor Microsoft being incapable of producing a stable operating system, these days, is a big part of it.
@LukeAlmighty @picandor @LukeAlmighty @picandor >Why did so many companies became unable to release a stable game?
Just like everything else, all the money's being funneled to fund stupid shit nobody needs (DEI programs, etc); talented people being cast aside in favor of tokens; and the few people in these institutions who otherwise could naturally achieve the level of excellence to create/maintain things of good quality are being thrown into an environment where nobody knows anything and the people who could teach them either don't teach them anything or aren't even there to do so in the first place.

@Kerosene @picandor
Yeah....
While greed would not be an explanation, deconstruction of dev teams to DEI trash would explain a ton.

@Kerosene @LukeAlmighty @picandor >the few people in these institutions who otherwise could naturally achieve the level of excellence to create/maintain things of good quality are being thrown into an environment where nobody knows anything and the people who could teach them either don't teach them anything or aren't even there to do so in the first place.

Also, it's hard to learn anything at work when everyone is "working from home".
@LukeAlmighty @Kerosene @picandor OUT: competent White and Asian nerd-bros who enjoy gaming

IN: vaginer-havers, vaginer-worshippers, niggers, nigger-faggots
@LukeAlmighty @Kerosene @picandor Because the organizations are designed to reject talent. They prioritize promotion based on social and ideological factors, while rejecting any concept of promotion based on merit. I don't know if you remember back during the Gate That Shall Not Be Named, the concept of "meritocracy" came under fire as sexist and racist, because white and asian men were the ones with all the merit.
@picandor How can they make a whole ass video game about some creepy CGI comic relief character? What's next? "Star Wars: Jar Jar Binks"?

@caekislove @picandor the game doesn't even make sense as a gollum game lol the premise and gameplay are pretty retarded

@picandor you would think George Floyd keeps dying with how often this format is being reused

@picandor I was watching DF Direct the other day and heard Alex talking about how shitty it is that they're saying "we are sorry that some users are experiencing this" as if it isn't ALL USERS that are experiencing it. If your game is a fucking mess, it's not like it'll run super smoothly on some machines magically when the top of the line still struggles and it isn't like you can go back and make the game LOOK any better either.
