Stereotypes can often be accurate!
https://spsp.org/news-center/character-context-blog/stereotype-accuracy-one-largest-and-most-replicable-effects-all

Stereotypes do not simply materialize out of thin air; they often have roots in observable social patterns and empirical evidence, as supported by extensive research in social psychology. For instance, Lee Jussim's work on stereotype accuracy, detailed in "Social Perception and Social Reality: Why Accuracy Dominates Bias and Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" (2012), indicates that stereotypes can be surprisingly accurate reflections of real group behaviors and characteristics. This accuracy is one of the most replicable findings in social psychology, suggesting that stereotypes are not entirely baseless. Alice Eagly and Anne Koenig's application of social role theory further explains how stereotypes derive from the roles individuals occupy in society. Their research in the "Journal of Personality and Social Psychology" shows that if a group is predominantly seen in certain roles, stereotypes about that group's behaviors or characteristics are likely to form based on these observations.

Stereotypes also serve a predictive function, acting as heuristic tools when specific information about individuals is unavailable. Studies like those by Bargh, Chen, and Burrows (1996) illustrate how stereotypes can subconsciously influence behavior, providing a quick reference for social expectations based on cultural norms or past experiences. Additionally, confirmation bias, as researched by Hamilton and Gifford (1976), shows how individuals tend to notice and remember information that confirms existing stereotypes, contributing to their persistence.

However, the contextual and variable nature of stereotypes is crucial to understand. Susan T. Fiske's research on ambivalent sexism and ageism highlights how stereotypes can vary by culture, context, and the interdependence of social groups. Her findings in "Perspectives on Psychological Science" explore how these stereotypes can be both prescriptive and descriptive, reflecting societal structures and power dynamics.

>>> While stereotypes can reflect certain social realities, their application to individuals is often inappropriate and can lead to unfair judgments and discrimination.

@furilabs

From what I understand FuriOS is forked from Droidian. So how dependant is FuriOS on Droidian ? For instance would me as an owner of an FLX1 supporting Droidian benefit FuriOS at all ?

I delivered two refurbished ThinkPad laptops to customers today.

A ThinkPad X13. Ryzen 7 processor, with system migration from the owner's previous ThinkPad T460 - upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (legacy to uefi conversion, SATA to nvme, et cetera).

The other is a refurbished ThinkPad T560 with Linux Mint Debian Edition to replace a failed Toshiba laptop. That customer was already using LMDE on the Toshiba so just had to physically migrate the SATA SSD from the Toshiba to the ThinkPad T560.

Christmas eve 1914 where they could've ended the great war by not continuing to kill each other and destroy all they made, but they honored their masters and went back to murdering each other and the cycle still continues to this very day.

Humanity continues to be the loser in this insane game called war for the nut jobs who foment it and it's not an honor at all to do this to each other nor are we the beneficiaries of the conflicts, the one's who fomented it are!

The less you rely on the government, the less power they have over you.
