It's sad that the "#Rust on #Linux" discussion on the invitation only #kernel maintainers summit I'm honored to participate in today is held in private, as having it in the open would send a strong signal:
The #LinuxKernel core maintainers really want Rust for Linux to succeed.
[Edit, to clarify: and many of them are willing to spend time and effort to make this happen.]

#SoftwareFreedomDay #DFF #FLOSS #OpenSource
Just joined fosstodon and wanted to share an #introduction. I'm a programmer and enjoy programming in #C/C++. I also like #gardening, singing (especially #publicdomain music), #writing (including #fanfic ) and #baking. I'm a #FLOSS advocate and am always searching for useful, portable, lightweight #libre #software. Am happy to share recommendations on favorite #programs and #libraries.
Another useful #writing tool I almost forget to mention is wc. You'll find it on #Linux and #BSD distros. On Windows, #msys and #cygwin offer a version. There are several implementations of wc out there including versions in Busybox and Toybox. If you want to build it yourself or modify it, sbase has a straight forward version:

I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
