He might be bad, but insufferable? Nah, he's still 10 times better then TV news, so you have to consider that.

He also tries to tell the news in the most centrist way he can. The fact that he throws one unsupported assumption after another is not the best way of doing it, but as I said, He's still much better then almost any news comentator.

(btw, I don't like him too much either, but if I were to rank him from all commentators I know of, he still is in top 5)

P.S. I do realize that what I see as success for the is different than what some users want...I would like to see the endgame of the causing the downfall of

@alex
Perhaps. Just wish more established folks like and would join the . That would pull leftist activists like , which would pull left-wing organizations like and , which would then pull right wing groups like , which would then probably bring over a lot of pop culture and celebrity figures, and then everyone else would join, too

People don't realize the effect joining the would create

@realcaseyrollins Would be nice, but I think we honestly have a better change building a new platform than convincing them to change.

I think it could be possible for to succeed is if they adopt software that already works--perhaps hiring one to make software that looks like theirs but federates--and migrate to it. That's really where failed, the devs didn't know what they were doing. If uses better devs, who have a proven track record of making good software, they could succeed where failed

@realcaseyrollins Point is, if Gab can't handle federation there's no way in hell Parler can. Their site has a history of being a lot buggier than Gab, which is a true accomplishment.

@alex
Well from what I hear they're actually successful 💁🏾‍♂️

Really I care more about being able to interact with those users on the platform than how the platform is run... just joined like yesterday and it'd be cool to interact with him

Sounds like is HUGE

I don't feel the need to join, but it'd be cool to follow some of the people over there from here. actually just joined
