You wanna know why no one takes Shadow seriously ever?
Because he was a victim of a concerted hitpiece and character assassination by nintendie game journalists the world over. All gaming magazines and online sites tried to ridicule Shadow the Hedgehog for using a gun and looking all grim and dark. They've always hated Sega and Sonic and once they left the console industry with the Dreamcast it was like a feeding frenzy dumping carcasses into an aquarium full of ravenous sharks. These same chucklefucks are also responsible for the "Sonic has too many stupid friends" meme due to Sonic Heroes also coming out prior. Basically by the mid 2000s it was all free game for these journalists to rank on Sonic without impunity because Sega was now a 3rd party developer and they could take revenge on Nintendo for the past. They were so insanely butthurt over the ads Sega used to do back then ranking on Nintendo, their mentality is childish much like Movieblob, someone who cant let go of the past and remains stalwart and everso indignant.
So Shadow the Hedgehog is in fact, a salient arc in his character, his origins, and his relationship with everyone else. Nevermind the iffy gunplay, of which isnt even that edgy. There was a perfect capstone to Shadow's character but it all got retconned and memoryholed due to a bunch of nerds ganging up on his game. Now you cant ever talk about this game seriously or admit you ever liked it because those same nerds are still here. Those journos used typical 2000s robot chicken/family guy tier insincerity and humor to mock Shadow the Hedgehog, to appear more mature and smug about this shit. But of course, a fat faggot italian plumber spinning around in space forcefeeding baby cartoon stars that giggle is A-OK and not worthy of mockery because its from the Almighty Nintendo.
