@sjw @MischievousTomato @novimatrem Winslows n00bs probably couldn't even figure out this one-window installer for Slackel! (Salix + Slackware = Slackel; it's to Slackware what Manjaro is to Arch and Ubuntu is to Debian).

@coolboymew @becassine This is where all the surplus revenue they got during the COVID lockdowns is going to.

@ArdanianRight @becassine @coolboymew I'd say they're trying to be more like Netflix for vidya. Their strategy with the Xbox Series X|S is to market Xbox more as a brand rather than a platform. Any Xbox game will also work on Windows and Microsoft is allowing their IPs on other platforms. Soon, you can play any Xbox game on any supported device.

@oxblood Though I think the real problem is that most people conflate "talent" with "passion".

@oxblood I think some people are quicker to learn certain skills than others but that shouldn't discourage other people from trying.

talented is a stupid word
it diminishes the effort and time put into learning skills
it disheartens those who are hesitant about taking the first step
I believe in proclivity but I do not believe in talent
And I believe that though you may have a proclivity for a skill, not having it does not make someone unable to learn it

In the words of @codeberg themselves, this is why I am asking:

> Recently, someone on Mastodon said the world needs many Codebergs, and I can fully second that mission. [ . . . ]

> To reach an ultimate level of efficiency for Codeberg, I expect we require times 5 to 50 our current user count, that is 100k to 1 million. And if you fear the monopoly: this still leaves room for 73 to 730 instances if we want to replace Microsoft GitHub alone.

@hj Without all that necessary fluff. Every web element should have a rect structure containing x and y coordinates along with width and height. Include the ability to do mathematical operations inside CSS and you don't need all the float and align garbage.

@hj They should make positioning things in CSS like positioning sprites in a video game.

i've centered an item both vertically and horizontally in CSS first try

Trudeau _WILL NOT_ speak protesters, period. The reason he gave when asked why, it was because he didn't agree with them.

This is actually what he said.

@ChristiJunior I only included him because he literally said "I understand why people use them, but I don't get why you would to that to me." And he said that if you don't like them, just mute the audio until the ad is over which is basically ad-fraud.

I personally don't mind ads. The only ads that bother me a targeted ads or ads with audio/video on otherwise static webpages. I think sponsorshit is worst because you have these e-celebs endorsing shit products/services.

Today I learned that self-control is the most important thing in a man. If you have shitty self-control, then you will be fucked. If you have a good self-control, then there’s a high chance to be succeeded.

Nobody has picked Linkara (as of this writing). Does he still give a shit about ad-block? I don't think he's relevant anymore though.

@amerika @rasterman @Marko It's pretty much only good for that, but I have mostly stopped paying attention to e-drama because it's not worth my time.

@neko That's just a generic Super Mario Bros. clone.

@neko If it's video games then it's excusable. FOSS games suck.
