@Moon @feld @lanodan @hj Or planning on giving to your family members. I didn't have to pay to go to college thanks to my grandparents' investments and savings over the decades.

@lanodan @feld @hj I'm jumping in this thread late and I don't particularly care if people agree with me or not on the topic, but I feel compelled to say that counterparty risk of leaving your money in a bank is a less than ideal arrangement, in particular if you've got more money than is federally insured ($250,000). if you have the tech where you don't need a bank, then banks should go away. Some people may want or need banks but banks are the actual hack on top of money, not crypto.

@Moon @feld @lanodan @hj I'd say it's more about breaking free from fiat (central-bank) currencies, but people don't realize that anything can be used as a currency.

@lanodan @feld @hj until you experience how primitive banking in the USA is you won't fully appreciate why so many people are excited about crypto

the worst thing the internet has done is that it has convinced a significant portion of its users that every single story or post or idea or concept or community has to relate to them in some capacity. if they are not in the core audience, they need to be included. if they are not happy with it, they need to be satisfied. the sociological concept of exclusion is not an inherently moral debate, sometimes you are just not included in a group or community and that is fine.

@okabe_rintarou @coolboymew You can even tell that they used stock assets. A lot of the games don't even have a consistent art style (what you get for mixing random stock assets).

But yes, Canada is actually using the idea that their hockey team are wearing masks as a real talking point against mandate protests. Over and over, every time any Canadian athlete wins wearing a mask, that will be the headline. Like it's fucking relevant.

@coolboymew They became somewhat of a fad during the early to mid-2000s. I remember any big TV or movie franchise having a plug-n-play console.

@coolboymew But the Amico has me thinking. I wonder if plug-n-play consoles could make a come-back because I think you could just bundle of couple of these games on put them on a plug-n-play system for much cheaper. Especially given how more powerful single-board computers have gotten, we could bring back the plug-n-play fad but with much more advanced games.

@coolboymew I'm not spending $200-$300 just to play 3D clones of Atari games that look like they've been made by high schoolers using Unity.

It really seems like the Canadian gov't is about to attack the truckers.

@cee I think most asexuals just have something that's killing their sex drive. Look into what you're eating or what meds you're taking and see if they have an effect on it.

@lanodan Cassette adapters are still used in cars with cassette players. Though the car I drive now has a built-in auxiliary jack.

5 Nigerian Physicists Predict Global Cooling In The Next 80 Years: 2100 Will Be 0.5°C Colder Than 2018
Funny, it seems the sun controls the climate, and CO2 is a false god.
