IPCC World’s Last Chance (Again)
"We have this week reached a tipping point that is even pointier than every other tipping point so far reached; which is to say we will soon be at a point of no return that is well past the point of no return that we were last warned there was no returning from."

Literally the entire front page of MSN right now: either curated propaganda about how bad Blumpf and anyone protesting on J6 is, why guns are bad and their marches they bused in during the summer when nobody is doing school, and ignoring the gas prices/inflation. Nope. Please pay attention to this TV trial while you can't fill your car up on $40 anymore.

@JapanAnon @DarkMahesvara Most Japanese unfortunately see crypto as a stock rather than alternative money.
Beside that, crypto in general is pretty different from fiat, each token has its own usecase (including none), like Monero as money, Dero as smart contract platform, Equilibria as oracle, Bitcoin as store of value, and so on.

By introducing so many different tokens like Skeb for artists, Storj for storage, LBRY Credit for a video site, and so on, unless you've been longer into crypto than 1 year (like you and I), this will most likely bewilder all the normies who previously used just Yen for literally everything, and that alone can make them go like "why the fuck do I have to care about 1000s of different tokens for 10000s of different things if I can just use the Digital Yen/CBDC for everything?".

Not saying that we need to just choose one, but rather most people will need lots of learning in order to truly adapt to the cryptocurrency lifestyle.

@Hyolobrika@mstdn.io @Moon @enigmatico Interesting blog even though there isn't much there. I like their article on combing federation with P2P.

@coolboymew The west nowadays really seems to be conditioned into believing that if you don't pick a side, you by default don't stand with Ukraine, and therefore by default you stand with Russia.
Speaking of dumbing down an entire culture...

@Hyolobrika@mstdn.io @Moon @enigmatico I don't know. I can't find any sites (or Hyperdrives as they call it). I imagine it's more optimized for smaller websites like blogs and forums. There seems to be an experimental social network on there but it looks like it uses one profile per hyperdrive.

@Hyolobrika@mstdn.io @Moon @enigmatico I don't know about IPFS, but I heard that Hypercore being based on a VCS means that it's possible to create dynamic websites with it.

It seems like a better way to handle dynamic content compared to what ZeroNet did.

@Moon @enigmatico I think the Dat protocol would be a better fit. It's a P2P filesharing protocol with a built-in version control system.
