I learned from this that in 1992-3, a congressman wanted to repeal the Second Amendment. Searching up his name brought up something else: that even a few years ago the elites felt he did nothing wrong.

It also mentioned that before Virginia became the blue state notorious for gun control laws, yuppies, and statue destruction (in the 90s obviously), they punished residents there because of criminals buying guns there to use in DC. When gun control laws passed, the guns came from Maryland instead. Only the law abiding citizens were punished, not the criminals.
