So something I've noticed about these new social media clones (in this case cohost.org) is that the authleft and some libleft types are really, really, bad at not making a Foss website and instead still take the parler route of "let's clone xyz site but not federate".

It's 2022 fucking federate your shit and make it Foss. Also wow a Tumblr clone without any of the things that made the original site notable. That's on top of the fact the guys who made this virtue signal and also throw around a whole lot of empty words on their site.

Man the people who wrote this manifesto don't know of RMS nor do they realize that platforms need to go too. Their platform will be dead in the water while the fedi will thrive for ages.

Never let a company have the ability to remote nuke your personal phone.

If they want that ability or even software which requires that permission ( even if "they don't have that feature turned on" ) they should get you a device.
