@xianc78 They want to push it on third worlders but the thing is, third worlders simply don't give a shit.

@matana
>I wonder whether that could happen because the journos made up a big stink of "being forced to play as a girl, eeeeew" because stink like that did happen at times

Phantasy Star II was originally going to star Lutz (or Noah in the English translation) from the first game after a 1000 stasis, but later they decided to have the character be a descendant of Alis (or Alisa in the Japanese version; I'm used to the US translation). You do play as a female in Phantasy Star Gaiden for the Game Gear though (spoiler alert: that's because it turns out the main character is a clone of Alis).

My guess is that the creators didn't want the series to be associated with the magical girl genre which wasn't the direction they intend to go. And they didn't want the series to just appeal to girls. That's just my guess though.

>but afaik, by the time Phantasy Star 3 got released, the series went FUBAR, as per S*GA's usual course

Phantasy Star III was a departure of the rest of the series. It was made by a separate team (the Phantasy Star team was working on Sonic the Hedgehog at the time) and they decided that they would have the game set in what appears to be a medieval fantasy world that seems to have no connection to the Algo system, until the end of the game when you realize what's truly going on. It was also painfully rushed. It was an ambitious game, but it being rushed, being set in a different setting, and having a different artstyle made it a flop.

Phantasy Star IV brought things back together, but it concluded the original series. They never intended to continue it. Phantasy Star Online was created by a completely different team, and from what I've heard, it wasn't originally a Phantasy Star game, but the science fantasy setting made some of the developers think of Phantasy Star.

@matana All the sequels of the original series had male protagonists though.

Tokyo Mean October Mean Temperature Has Been Falling For Decades
data from the Japan Meteorological Agency
"the trend over the past 33 years – it’s been downward. "
"There was no warming, until that is NASA tampered with the data to produce a “warming” trend. NASA’s trend starts to look like forgery and fakery."
Goreball warming is fake and gay!

For people who saw my photo yesterday wondering what I have against vegans, it's the politicization of food.

At the beginning of the whole vegan trend, I had nothing against vegans at all, they chose to not eat meat, you're free to choose what you want to eat and what not, perfectly fine with that.
Then politics started getting involved, and the obsoletes started to weaponize the whole concept of not eating meat, and started to force people to stop eating meat bit by bit.
Then you got a whole wave of vegan SJWs who are basically the trannies of food instead of sex, just forcing people who want to eat meat to stop eating meat.

So basically, a diet got turned into an ideology.
That's the problem!

I was feeling pretty frustrated with modern journalism pretending that there were no playable and "respected" women in vidya until they were forced in for woke marketing

so I planned a series of illustrations celebrating girls, but... there's just too many of them... (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)♡

which is good, and I hope to draw some

but for now, here is Alisa Landale, the main character of Phantasy Star, released in 1987

@PhenomX6 One advantage of living in the third world is that you aren't exposed to globalist propaganda.

@ryo I don't see that many here. Granted, most people didn't get any boosters where I'm from.

@ItsSkyDragonz I heard it takes years to do that. Plus, it doesn't fully restore the foreskin because you can't grow the nerve endings back.

@hachi @Hyolobrika This is literally Star Trek levels of Utopian Marxism.

@Hyolobrika @hachi
>Why do you care about, say, the levels of water fluoridation in a small town in the US?
That was just an example of simple sabotage. People can learn from other communities, but I don't believe things like foreign aid or constant virtue signaling.

@Hyolobrika The third-world is a fucking war zone. We really shouldn't put the whole weight of the world on our shoulders. We should help ourselves and our local communities where we can actually make a difference.

Also, this caring about the whole world is what people use to justify a global government. Which @hachi supports.

@lanodan The only roadkill I see here are raccoons. I think I ran over one once, but it happened way to fast for me to stop it. And I don't eat roadkill, but it may be a good idea if these food shortages get worse. I rather eat raccoons than bugs.

@lanodan That was some good roadkill. Thanks for running it over.
