@lanodan @bird @djsumdog @coyote @hakui I think they are trying to hide the existence of instances outside of the "approved" Mastodon instances. Journalists who got dogpilled by Poast and DRCs are now writing hitpieces on why they think fedi is worse than Twitter. It seems like Mastodon.eu doesn't want to make the same mistake.

Quite a shame because I'm probably the biggest climate denier on the fedi and having a confrontation with her would've been epic.

@TerminalAutism @PhenomX6 Yeah, unfortunately. But he stuck with his principles unlike Hotwheels, Jim, or anyone else. He was even the one to come up with 8chan.moe (the closest to the original 8chan, imo) after being fed up with the 8kun rebrand.

It's been a while since I've been on 8chan though. I do know that he planned on moving on from being a BO. So, I don't know if he's still a BO or not.

Were they just real names or full doxes (home address, phone number, workplace, etc)? A real name is nothing unless there is other info attached to it. (There are plenty of people out there who share the same full name as you)

@lanodan @bird @djsumdog @coyote @hakui Too bad that Mastodon instance seems to be a whitelist only one. I've checked her post on the actual instance and most of the visible replies were calling her out for not being extreme enough.

@Soy_Magnus @PhenomX6 @s8n @Burn I don't care about his real info. I don't believe in doxing, canceling, or any of that stuff. If I find out someone's real name (which I have multiple times before), I keep it to myself. It's something that I don't want to be done to me, so I would never to it to anyone else, even to the people I despise.

And AFAIK, 4chan requires that all janitors keep it a secret, meaning you are not allowed to disclosed the fact that you are a janitor whether under a real name or an online handle.

Even though I've been here longer than Poast, I'm not too familiar with it's backstory. It was always some instance that popped up out of nowhere and gained a following from the dissident right types. The Wiki claims that he was a wannabe e-celeb on Twitter before starting his own instance, but I never used Twitter so I can't verify that. Poast seemed to got popular after Wyatt brought it up, so maybe there is a connection there.

@PhenomX6 @Burn Yeah it's most likely fake. I don't recall Graf ever disclosing his real name or face either. Gleason and Josh are the only major instance admins I know who have ever disclosed their real identities.

@Noided @PhenomX6 4chan is basically slightly edgier Discord at this point. It's nothing but pepes, wojaks, e-celeb drama and it's uses fucking Google Analytics and CloudFlare. It's even deader than 8chan, despite having a much higher user count.

@Burn @PhenomX6 Poast is not an imageboard. If graf used to run one then I don't know about it.

@PhenomX6 His stance on loli pissed a lot of people off and apparently he isn't a good programmer (but I can't verify that; Infinity Next is the only project I know that he made himself). And most 8chan users despise KiwiFarms and lolcow culture.

That's also one think I liked about 8chan (at least on the /v/ board) was that they had a disdain for wojaks, pepes, lolcow drama, and culture war ecelebs. Those things were way too prevalent on the non-normie side of the Internet.

(I wish I had a screenshot of that post of someone claiming that they made most of the wojak variants because someone commissioned them all)

@PhenomX6 It seems like everyone who has ever worked in the imageboard community has become a traitor. The only one I can think of who didn't become a traitor is ironically Mark from 8chan/v/.
