@xianc78 @xianc78 One honorable mention: Framework. Their store allows for refurbished laptops and parts, along with the option to buy with one of those popular Linux distros installed. Additionally, consider if there's easily serviceable parts available for whatever you're buying. While it's nice to have multiple GNU+Linux PC options, it won't matter if it's physically broken beyond repair and you have to buy yet another computer instead.

@beardalaxy More often than you think. Granted, you don't see Linux computers at your local BestBuy, Costco, or OfficeDepot, and installing Windows on these computers is still easy. Just boot from a Live CD, DVD, or USB and install, but that may change soon as I have stated in the article.

@EliteGenderInversion @beardalaxy Spamming to random replies is not how you do it. You are just going to alienate people regardless if it is true or not.

What is equality?

I will fight to the death for equal opportunity, but will fight to the death against equal outcomes

New article on my site: I go over why you shouldn't buy new Windows computers just to install Linux on them.

@djsumdog He would be blocking more instances if he wasn't friends with SJW.

@djsumdog I think he recently banned any and all conspiracy theorists.

@ArdainianRight ALL political parties are your enemy. How many times do I have to say it? Modern politicians only exist to serve the shadow government. Political parties are an illusion.

Why am I addicted to OpenTTD. Running a transport business sounds boring as fuck.

Seeing people post positively about Substack now that it's challenging Twitter.

Reminder: Substack is also centralised. Worse, the business model is basically to take what would once have been blogs and paywall them as premium 'newsletters'.

Substack is not a friend of the open web.

@beardalaxy @Alex
>but seeing a door that can't be opened in a game that is an open-world adventure is always pretty sad

Fallout has unpickable locks. There are even buildings you can't enter. Though it is justified in-universe because they are boarded off as people thought that would protect them from a nuclear blast.

>most pokemon houses are completely unrealistic too, without beds or bathrooms. the MC house only has one bed and no bed for their mom lol.

I forgot about that. I only thought of Pokemon because your bedroom is on the second floor of the house.

>the game takes place during a plague, where a lot of the population has died, so i didn't want to have these massive cities with absolutely nobody and nothing in them.

A city with a lot of abandoned buildings would make sense in a depopulated world. Though I think you could justify the lack of buildings by saying that they burned the houses of the dead in hopes to stop the spread of the disease. You could also have abandoned buildings where you can loot. You can even leave diaries and letters in the buildings for the sake of world building.

@projectmirai39 @Terry @ChristiJunior @Dan_Hulson I disagree with the Matrix part. I'm well aware of the problems with Matrix. Either way, don't use Telegram.
