@hachi @zoomgoboom In America we have plenty of food. The only way to make it so we don't would be to follow your suggestion and replace grocery stores with gay little commie gardens that'd get trashed by homeless drug addicts anyways.

Taking advice from people who believe that there are too many people on the planet seems like overall a bad idea.

Ada Lovelace was not a programmer:

https://www.bbvaopenmind.com/en/technology/visionaries/ada-lovelace-original-and-visionary-but-no-programmer/

Grace Hopper invested COBOL, but she hardly made the first compiler. She coined the turn compiler; and she did some amazing things, but there's no reason to inflate her beyond those already big accomplishments.

Robert Williams was big in the era of text adventure games, but let's just admit it: all the Sierra games kinda sucked, and were just a means to sell hint books. The only really good games she wrote were Kings Quest VI and Phantasmagoria (just the first one; second one sucked)

I don't recognize the other names. Some of them may have been important, some exaggerated. I feel like from the few issues I've seen, I can't trust the rest of this list.

Why not just let great people stand on their own? Why is there this bizarre need to elevate the few who excel in something their in-group typically doesn't care about? You don't see "Greatest men of needle-point"

@beardalaxy I've heard that people who emulated the game using save-states have reported crashing if the game is left running for 10 in-game hours. Though I think a lot of games will crash if left for that long due to memory leaks.

@beardalaxy Rare also made a game that infamously crashed randomly unless it used the N64 expansion pak (which only mitigated the bug).

Also, what is even the point of blocking Threads we Meta openly admitted that Threads was going to be whitelist only?

@xianc78 there are two kinds of people on the fediverse:

1. twitter censors too much
2. twitter doesn't censor enough

Imagine defederating from Threads because it wasn't catering to trannies enough.

Support for Windows XP (2001) ended 10 years ago, on 8th April 2014. 🪦Appreciating its continued significance, Microsoft released several critical updates for the OS after this date, in 2014, 2017 & 2019. This made XP the first unsupported Windows version to receive updates. 🤯

@Spingebill I never played Destiny, but after looking it up, yeah. I can't imagine a persistent world ever becoming an e-sport, even if there are PvP parts to the game. Those are the types of games that you immerse yourself, not to compete, especially on a professional level.

@waltercool I've done it earlier but maybe I need to readjust them. The levels are randomly generated so I have to set limits on where they *can* spawn.

As for the player taking damage randomly in that clip, I have no idea where that came from.
