>I remember when electric cars were universally considered to be unrealistic.
They still are. They only exist to solve some non-problem (man-made climate change) by creating something more environmentally destructive (mining lithium). Even if man-made climate change and peak oil are real there are better ways to approach the problem. Stanley Meyer (the real entrepreneur that we needed) tried to solve that problem himself, but he was murdered by the government.
>Cheap nuclear energy
Everyone who has claimed to have discovered it, died mysteriously. It's clear that the government is trying to suppress that technology. It won't happen unless this current system is either overthrown or reformed. Same with any other technology that will actually benefit us rather than suppress us.
>cancer cures
Recently, people have claimed that ivermectin and fenbendazole can cure cancer or are at least much more effective at treating it.
@gabriel There is this Japanese conspiracy theory saying that Square Enix was secretly ordered not to release any Dragon Quest game on a weekday because otherwise, millions of Japanese workers would be ditching work on release day.
This YouTuber is underrated. He mainly talks about RPGs and games from the SNES era but actually gives out his honest opinions and doesn't do any of the modern YouTube cancer (clickbaits, sponsored content disguised as reviews, etc). He is a lot like most pre-2009 video game YouTubers.
@beardalaxy I never got the chance to do it, except for one time my Dad had a bunch of a couple of old Macs from his workplace and we played this tank game called Bolo. None of my friends were PC gamers back in the early 2000s (probably the last gasp of LAN parties), and the few console games that did support them required some obscure accessory, multiple TVs, and an IT person to set it all up.
I think even after the Internet went mainstream, LAN parties still had their place in workplaces or schools (some places were actually cool with it during downtime), but now every computer in those places has Active Directory or something like that installed.
