@ooignignoktoo @RustyCrab @Suiseiseki @sun This guy is just taking everything Richard Stallman says as gospel, not realizing that the is a reason why the community split back in 1998. Personally, I think the "open source" movement also has flaws, but Stallman using the term "free software" to define his idea of software respecting user's freedom was a terrible mistake. FOSS seems to take the best of both worlds.
I just knew that the water fluoridation defenders were going to turn it into a "class struggle" issue.
"Oh you don't like fluoride in the water? You must hate the poor."

@noyoushutthefuckupdad I knew it was inevitable given that it was a popular service for sending in bomb threats.
You are probably better off actually paying for an email address as it makes it much harder for fedposters (fedsenders?) to make throw away accounts.
This seems like a good choice. They only charge 1 EUR/Month and accept cash via mail, including USD.

@Rocket @coolboymew I've heard that the story isn't fleshed out unless you have the expansion pack installed.
@coolboymew How good is the first Unreal?
@RehnSturm256 I’ve noticed fedi becoming like that too. It feels like when I started using fedi there were 2 sides of fedi. The “Canceldon instances”, and “Dark Fedi” ones. With a rare few fedi instances which managed to stay in contact with both somehow.
Now it feels like “Dark Fedi” is starting to get just as defederation happy as the rest of fedi which they would make fun of. So now you’re getting these weird subgroups of fedi, everyone forming their own little echo chambers.
It feels like being defederated by association used to be exclusively a “canceldon” thing pretty much, but now I’m noticing “based” “free speech” “dark fedi” instances doing it.
Either you die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become to villain.
It’s kinda funny, I never started Shota House with the intention of being a “Free Speech Instance” always wanted to be a little cozier and slightly more moderated. Though it’s starting to seem like with baest gone, we’re one of the more light-touch free speech leaning instances.
not sure how I feel about that.
