I just realized how many itch.io games/projects have the "Olivia Hill Rule". And for those who don't know what that is, it's basically just like those CoCs you see in a lot of FOSS projects, but somehow much simpler and much worse and it applies to both users AND contributors.

@merchantHelios ys series (archetypal action rpgs), trails series (imagine the platonic form of a jrpg in your head but with actual writing), xanadu series (historically fantasy but last entry kind of did an urban high school setting to cash in on those persona $$$$$), https://www.falcom.co.jp/vantage/index_e.html honorable mention for vantage master which is a pretty good srpg that in a gigachad move they officially translated and made freeware 20+ years ago

Is it possible to create ANYTHING online without getting into drama anymore? How is it that one guy was able to create a full-length video game and publish it online back in 2004, yet these days your average fan-game or indie game can't be finished without one of the developers rage quitting and leaking a Google Doc about everyone on the team or if it's a solo dev, have their work cancelled by someone else because he said something mean?
