Ok, so both times were English teacher, aka second language teacher (Remember, I live in a French place)

Most of the teachers I've had were rather chill and the English teachers knew to leave me the fuck alone as I was way way way above the curriculum and I just kept to myself mostly

At some point we got a replacement English teacher, what a bitch, jesus. Kept being on my ass because me and my friends talked often and never listened to her class. At some point she had a surprise test and sent a snarky comment to me ... most of the class failed the test miserably, I got 95%, the look on her face was golden

Second little bitch was in college. Fuck this. Here, called "Cégep", you have obligatory classes, 2 second language, 4 french, 3? philosophy, 3 gym class (yes, really) and 2 complementary. The issue comes that when a teacher takes themselves way too fucking seriously. It's like dude, you're nothing but an unwanted fuck the way of getting my chosen field diploma

Anyways, the class in college was RIDICULOUSLY easy, I passed it with even less effort than I did in high school, it was this inconsequential. I slept in his class once and he started being a bitch to me, kept asking me questions when I wasn't paying attention (massive ADHD here btw) and the likes, it was dead clear that I had no interest in his class. At some point I started skipping the latter half of the class because each class had a small test at the beginning and I didn't want to miss Avatar the Last Airbender (lol, yes, really) and it was like the last class on friday, so fuck that

That also meant that I missed what I needed to read for the quick beginning of class test. So I would come into class, he would do his little bitch asking me if I read the shitty test, no I fucking didn't and ... It was 3 fucking paragraph I had to read for a 10 mins test comprehension test. It was an absolute fucking joke. I am currently writing more than there was to read in that goddamn test. By that time, I was writing and reading shit like this on the Internet for years already. And of course, and his smartass smirk went away when he saw that I kept getting perfect and nearly perfect marks in every single one of his test... So I just kept with the disrespect of leaving half way through the class, including the the last class after the exam where he was doing a class thing, so I had to do the final disrespect of leaving and giving no shit at him attempting to call me out for it

What a fucking bitch, you're not important dude. Could avoided all this shit if he just left me to my devices, but nooooo, he just had to didn't he? And he didn't fucking win

@rasterman @emilis @ArdanianRight @TheMadPirate @leyonhjelm @promethea The smell can be bad enough to stink an entire room. Imagine being forced to sit next to one at the bus and being able smell it.

@ChristiJunior @comfy It also wouldn't surprise me if they also used those DMCAs because they hate those types of sites. I remember hearing about companies thinking they could take 8chan down by DMCAing content they own the rights to.

@TheMadPirate @emilis @ArdanianRight @leyonhjelm @rasterman @promethea I'd imagine it would be painful to put on since you're basically putting chemicals into an open wound.

@ChristiJunior @comfy The people who try to suppress the leaks are even worse. Sony went ballistic with DMCAs for TLoU2 leaks. Not even obscure sites were safe. Some even had to temporarily shutdown until all of the DMCAd content was removed.

@comfy That dumbass hacked into Nintendo's servers using his bare IP.

Politicians keep getting caught breaking their own stay at home orders. I'm getting the impression they think the rules don't apply to them.

@comfy Most leakers are pieces of shit, with some honorable exceptions, like the absolute madman who exposed The Last of Us 2 being such horrific garbage.

@landedking@liberdon.com There's been a huge attack on anime porn (especially loli) on the Internet lately, including supposedly free speech sites like Gab. The Fedi seems to be the only viable place for it.

@feral_apothecary I keep on hearing that most Tor nodes are owned by the government. I think I2P might be a better option.

Gaming Whitepill of the day - Okami is actually now a successful game:

https://nintendoeverything.com/okami-hd-sales-numbers-revealed-switch-version-sold-more-than-any-other-platform/

Okami HD has sold more than 2 million in total, pretty amazing after the original Okami sold pretty poorly on the PS2 and later on the Wii, two of the most successful home consoles out there. But I guess many years of great word of mouth combined with excellent current gen availability eventually proved effective.

HP... Storytime!

Not only printers. HP is on top of my do-not-buy list. No firmware updates without contract is the top reason.

I bought a vpn router once and it handed out "hp.com" as search domain via dhcp. And this was not configurable.

I got through their support stages via email. They even fixed the firmware. But then I couldn't download it, because I don't have a support contract.

Ah and there is a HP scanner which has a firmware with a broken smtp authentication, so it can send scans via email only without auth... oh and ssl is broken too. There is actually an update, but the firmware upload page requires an internet explorer (the scanner is from 2019 btw.).

Well, I got an internet explorer connected, after the fw upload, it takes 5 min an the scanner display shows: "firmare update is fail" and reboots.

I tried to open a ticket, but I can't because I don't have a support contract...

I also owned an HP MicroServer and even payed for the iLO License. But that doesn't mean I would get firmare updates... I only get the function to update the bios firmware, not the right to download a firmware itself. That's still behind the support contract.

I'm fed up with them.

@coolboymew @feld @Moon @georgia @promethea Imagine being fined or arrested for not calling some pretentious dude with a non-medical PhD "Doctor" - even though the guy is technically in the right, unlike a dude in a dress demanding to be referred to as a woman.

The guy demanding, let alone ordering people to refer to him in a certain way is generally the asshole - all the more so when he's demanding that people play pretend or outright lie depending on their perspective.

@realcaseyrollins @ArdanianRight @snow @amerika @icedquinn @ChristiJunior That's probably why I see more agnostic scientists than atheist scientists. Mathematicians, scientists, and philosophers have tried to come with experiments, formulas, arguments, etc to prove whether or not God or gods exist and they always end up being inconclusive.

There is also seems to be a decline in science as well as religion. As what @verita84 said in that we are seeing a rise of politically/ideologically motivated pseudo-science. There have always been divides in scientific theories and research but I think it has increased in the past number of years and now there are political motivations behind them.

Not only that but there is also a rise of anti-intellectualism in our society. We have people who take pride of being lazy and uneducated and openly brag about it. People don't seem to be academically motivated anymore. Our role models are entertainment celebrities rather than scientists, engineers, and philosophers. People care more about the latest iPhone revision or the current celebrity drama than scientific breakthroughs. I honestly believe that most people haven't cared about scientific breakthroughs since the moon landings.
