@neo the science is fairly settled, go back to the 1918 Spanish Flu and see what people said about masks during that pandemic anytime before 2019, the science has always been clear that a cloth mask will lead to more disease than it helps, and no, it doesn't protect against the flu

Canadian government is starting to mandate vaccines... "The vaccination requirement will also extend to certain travellers. This includes all commercial air travellers, passengers on interprovincial trains, and passengers on large marine vessels with overnight accommodations, such as cruise ships." They're really going to force this on us, aren't they?

@eris if masks and lockdowns work why do places with lockdowns that release their lockdown often see an ease in cases? Also, if masks and lockdowns work, why do places with lockdowns fairly consistently have higher death totals than places that don't, all the while other comparisons yield have nearly no difference?
There's literally no logical reason for there to be 0 cases of flu, and no, if the masks and lockdowns were sufficient enough to stop the flu, they would have helped at least somewhat consistently with COVID, and since COVID numbers are either higher or no different than places without lockdowns versus with them, there's literally no way for that to be true.
Furthermore, there's nothing we *did* that would have eradicated the flu since COVID started, we didn't do anything except enter a pandemic and by March 2020 flu had started dropping, which was before a lot of the lockdowns. There's no causal link between masks and flu disappearing.

For the past three weeks in the entire US there hasn't been one single positive identification of flu, for three whole weeks. Not a single one reported by the CDC.

@ArdanianRight It needs to be 100% voluntary though. A lot of people are proposing that we modify humans to fight climate change (meat intolerance, cat-like vision to reduce the need for lights, etc) and governments could make that mandatory. Other than that, I'm all 100% for it.
