re: Microsoft purchasing Activision Blizzard

@okabe_rintarou Sony never really had an official mascot and I'm pretty sure they expected both Crash and Spyro to go multi-plat once their contracts with Universal expired. Spyro was clearly meant to capitalize on the success of N64 platformers like Super Mario 64 while Crash was more linear like most 2D platformers.

I also think that Sony never presented Crash as their mascot in Japan. Probably because Crash doesn't really appeal to a Japanese audience. They had some generic cat mascots.

But don't take my word for it. I never owned a Sony console. I'm only going off of what I've heard from those who grew up with the PS1.

If you think fedi is a small community you need to join an instance not on every block list known to man and realize your niche little muh big tech censorship clique is the vast tiny and very loud minority!

@okabe_rintarou I'm (semi) surprised that most voted "No". I always felt like people who waste their time on obscure parts of the Internet having autism was largely a meme, but I was never entirely sure.

Microsoft purchasing Activision Blizzard

@okabe_rintarou Lucky for me, I was never into any of Activision/Blizzard IPs. I do find it ironic that Microsoft now owns one of Sony's mascots (Spyro).

Try to improve your skill at being bad at things. When you try something new, you start out being bad at it. Most people, especially as they become adults, don't like being bad at things.

By reducing aversion to being bad at things, you find it easier to try new things, and become good at more things.

Beginner's mind.

We need to dispel this myth that the fediverse is small. It is not. The decentralised nature of the fediverse simply fractures things so you never see how active the network is from one instance alone and assume it is dead because of this. You have to move around the network to find more people and get a feel for how large it is. It has continued to grow over the years since I've been here. It amazes me when I branch away from my own fedi bubbles to realise that there are so many people on here that I will never be able to talk with everyone or get to know them.

@Moon How about you write your own Fedi software from scratch and use that?

@Moon @dubh I remember hearing about this. It was ported to the Atari Jaguar and a bunch of other retro consoles.

@dubh @Moon I assume he's not talking about the mouse cursor but the command cursor.

@Moon Did the C64 allow you do to that? TempleOS was intended to be a modern C64.
