I finally got OBS to record audio. Now, you can hear the BGM that I used for level 1 and the boss battle.

If you want to play old games that are good, try Rogue Squadron. Its good. Its super old and quirky, but it has some of the best spaceship combats I've ever seen.

For a 1998 game its pretty good, you can pilot all of the iconic ships in the first star wars trilogy. Even the Millennium falcon. And I believe some of the second as well but Im not entirely sure. And the fights are quite intense. Its not a very hard game but its not the easiest either. Specially if you want the gold medals.

The only two major downsides are the aiming and the radar. The aiming is not the worst, and the ships have a little bit of autoaim to assist you. But some ships move really fast and the lasers somehow go through without causing damage. It adds to the intensity but sometimes can be a bit frustrating if you're in a hurry or if you aim for the gold (there is an accuracy requirement for gold).

The radar works as intended and shows you the position of the enemies. But it doesnt tell you if they are above or below your ship, so unless you see the ship (which sometimes its easier said than done), you can't tell where it is because its above or below you outside of your FOV.

Other than that and the quirky late 90s collision detection, its a pretty decent game. I recommend the PC version since I heard the game is a bit relentless on the N64 version in some of the levels. You can make it work on PCem as well using Windows 95 with a Voodoo2.

@soraya Says the person who used to have a Kuromi pfp.

@lavaender There is not. CO2 only makes a small percentage of our atmosphere. And a smaller percentage of that is man-made.

@lavaender CO2 is not a pollutant. It's a natural byproduct.

@yasu The world is a 1 world NWO government already, they just keep the illusion up for a little bit longer to make it seem like it's 193 national governments being friendly or hostile to one other instead.
And then they meet up at Davos or New YAWK, shake hands, hold (satanic) parties together, and those "great enemies" all of the sudden seem to get along with one other really well.

New article and probably my most controversial one so far: The Culture War Is Fake.

@ArdainianRight
>This is why gay kissing in children's stories is bad while normal romantic kissing is not, because children should be culturally encouraged towards matrimony and procreation.

This is especially the case because a lot of these children are still in their "boy are gross"/"girls are weird phase" so they might be more drawn to same sex attraction. Hell, I remember a lot of girls back in early elementary school hoping that they will be able to marry other girls because they thought that boys are too gross. I don't think a single one of them turned out to be a lesbian.

@ryo
>both newbies and professionals
There's your problem right there. If it's designed for both newbies and professionals then they are going to stick with that language and not move on to anything else. That's why people are developing trying to develop professional software in languages like Python, JavaScript, and Java even if C/C++ are better choices.

We need to bring back BASIC. It's solely meant for educational purposes and nothing else. Nobody made professional software in it (maybe outside of a few video games, but those can be an exception). And everyone moved on to languages like C, C++, Pascal, and Assembly afterward.

@ryo @PonyPanda @SerfnUSA Fair enough. I don't even know most American celebrities either.

@ryo @PonyPanda @SerfnUSA What about Itoi's other works. He's a huge celebrity outside of video games.
