>I'm not even sure it's about his politics because I've seen the same happen to those on the "other side of the spectrum", just in a different way.
Back when I watched him, he openly said he didn't know what left or right meant. He seemed to lean more into the classical liberal side of things. He is even hated by the far-right because he openly claims to be Jewish and proud.
He always spoke out against Internet censorship (such as when TDS got shutdown back in 2017) and ridiculous CoCs. It seems like during the past few years he wrote a bunch of articles on woke, far-leftists subverting FOSS communities, including those who were hostile to those refusing the COVID vaccine. He also wrote about how the Linux Foundation's donations are going to WEF-adjacent causes.

I've never seen him do anything that warrants whatever is currently happening.
He doesn't need to. It's about curating which voices are permitted to be influential.@djsumdog Oh, of course that piece of shit, Drew DeVault decided to go after him. God, I fucking hate his guts!
@djsumdog I watched him a lot back in 2017. He did some great videos on Linux as well as some laid back videos on retrocomputing, such as showing off his old BBS. He tried to be as apolitical as possible (it was his stated policy), but he started to speak out against CoCs, internet censorship, and those "ethical software" licenses.
But despite that he has gripes against "family unfriendly content" being front page on certain networks. He used to be on the Fediverse, but apparently he really didn't like all the anime lewds from FSE and the like, so he went to Gab instead. He also left LBRY/Odysee once because a featured video said the word "shit" on the title.

@coolboymew CaveStory and Kero Blaster uses Orgyana files which is a custom format made by Daisuke Amaya. Unlike MIDI, the instrument samples are embedded in the files themselves.
@coolboymew I didn't realize how easy it is. I'm pretty sure it's just as easy on some desktop MIDI program, but I can't find any good native ones for Linux.
I'm not a music expert at all. The only other music program I messed around with was pxtone Collage which is the program Pixel made to make the soundtrack for CaveStory and Kero Blaster. The only problem with that is that there is no MIDI support and no support for SoundFonts (only instrument samples stored as WAV files).
@beardalaxy I remember hearing about Nintendo Power giving away free games that way, but yeah it kind of sounds like a bad idea for beta testing. I honestly don't know how most companies/devteams pick their beta testers. Maybe it's their top posters on their forums. I was selected as a beta tester for CS:GO back when it was still in development and I have no idea how I was selected.
