SIGNAL HACKED! 🤯
Seems like all the people screaming about Cloudflare were right all along.
SDL3 is officially released! https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/releases/tag/release-3.2.0
@Cocoa @PurpCat @lord_nougat @mitchconner @PalePimp @graf @j @shadowferret @siinclaiir I still need to try it. Honestly, it trying to be independent from Big-Tech as much as possible is what really got my attention. Anti-wokeness is just secondary.
@ullard @eriner At least Stallman keeps his free software activism separate from his other activism, and is willing to work with people he disagrees with. For example, Stallman makes it clear that he isn't found of right-libertarians, but that didn't stop him from working with someone like ESR during the early days of the GNU project. Stallman has also appeared on right-wing shows like InfoWars.
Contrast this with someone like Drew DeVault who constantly writes hit-pieces of people he doesn't like on his blog and goes out of his way to make sure they are blacklisted from as many communities as possible. Drew DeVault wants the entire FLOSS movement to cater to his narrow worldview.
I don't like RMS's personal politics, especially his stances on COVID, but at least he knows to keep them separate from the free software movement and the GNU project.
@eriner @xianc78 Contrary to certain misconceptions, what actually happens is this: the political notes are posted, and the person who has set this up operates a bridge between Mastodon and email on my behalf. This means that I (RMS) do indeed get all replies through the bridge and send email responses to the bridging software to post on Mastodon. but I do so only on occasions where I believe it is warranted.
@WilhelmIII @rms @eriner It's basically the furthest left you can be while still being a capitalist. Basically you still have private ownership of the means of production, but you favor democratic policies and stronger social programs to "help the little guy".
At least that's what I'm told. Apparently it's different than "democratic socialism".
Also a reminder that even though Ross Ulbricht was innocent, he was also an idiot for making subtle hints about running Silk Road on his LinkedIn profile.
