@gmcgath I've heard that they contribute to ISP monopolies in local areas.
Libertarians and classical liberals generally know how much zoning laws contributed to racial segregation, in the form of redlining. I've never read anything on how much they hurt small, local businesses, but they must have. I wouldn't be surprised if lobbyists pushed for zoning for just that reason.
