I really miss the days when you can share your creations online and not get into any stupid drama about pronouns or some other retarded shit.

>tcrf has captcha now
>archwiki has had it for a few months
this is why wikis need to be decentralised in the first place.

i sympathise with @Xkeeper and agree the harassment is undeserved, but you're doing no better by hoisting your own ego above the need to preserve a niche knowledgebase for the public good. nothing about tcrf is "yours" other than that you host it. don't be disingenuous.

@verita84 @lina I do like the concept, despite it's flaws. It's just a shame that outside of the spam, it's basically the libertarian PieVille. Almost nobody wants to discuss ANYTHING outside of libertarian politics or how crypto is going to save the world.

@sendpaws This kind of behavior is why I host like 40GB of git mirrors in the event that some project goes away, or becomes hijacked. I don't consider a thing I think of useful archived until I have at least one copy of it on one of my servers. It's sad that the archiving community was hijacked by people that value identity politics more than actual archiving and providing those archives to everyone. (I should check on textfiles.com how it's doing.) It's also why I don't consider IA to be a good place to archive software considering that it's been on life support for years now. "It's now on IA" is simply not enough.

@phnt this literally started over a user disagreeing with pride flags, and before this handling DDOS protection in a way more scuffed way than just using haproxy/anubis/blocking alibaba cloud or something.

Apple: "Only Apple can make a UI like this because integration and shit."

Random-ass 17 year old Linux theme maker: "Here's a pixel-perfect copy of Liquid Glass for GTK, Qt, Motif, every X and Wayland window manager released since 1976, Tcl/Tk, and Ncurses."

@coolboymew Yeah, that stuff is 1000x better than regular ramen, but I can't be satisfied with just soap.

The free bricks of organic left-wing activism have appeared in your neighborhood. A fiery but mostly peaceful protest will pass over your door but only if you reply "Thanks for the free bricks!"

nfts actually would be pretty useful in videogame like purchasable skins and shit like imagine the counter strike shit but even more sketchy and unregulated (and ironically enough even less useful for money laundering, boo public blockchain! boo!)

@crunklord420 Baking soda actually does work as deodorant. I've been doing that since 2023.

@lina @ceo_of_monoeye_dating "Hacking" use to mean "playful cleverness". It didn't necessarily have to deal with computers. It was some subculture common with mathematicians, engineers, and programmers, but eventually the word went mainstream, but only when it came to interacting with computers in unconventional ways. Stallman hates the new definition and demands that security breakers be called "crackers" instead.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating Gleason is alright in my book. Granted, I'm on a Mastodon instance so his abandonment of the fedi has no effect on me.

Suiseiseki, on the other hand is a prime example of extreme free software autism actually keeping people on Windows. He also adopts Stallman's autistic vocabulary (GNU+Linux instead of Linux, cracker instead of hacker, etc) and shoves it down everyone's throat.

I vote for Suiseiseki.
