Reminder that large chunks of the high-level Smash 4 community were outed as abusers even though they came up at a time with considerably more social restrictions than Melee oldfags who came up at a time when you could say stuff like "gay" and "retarded" with impunity, yet the Melee types were considerably less likely to be abusers. The way history talks about the Holocaust (whether it happened or not) is intentionally designed as flypaper for both extremes.

For the left, they get caught up on defending the existence of the Holocaust from all those who would deny it.

For the right, they get caught up on denying it using long division, statistics, etc.

In both cases, both sides are hung up on it, both sides are too busy arguing over an almost 100 year old event to bother working to stop the very real modern issues and forces that are maligned against them. Whether you believe in it or not, you are still playing their game.

"Who gives a shit whether it happened or not? What's done is done" is the only proper response and will save you a lot of time that can be better used elsewhere.

Let's face it. Essetially, until we figure out a way of having limitless energy usable by everyone all the time, and ways of using that energy to print out stuff like Star Trek matter constructors, we're going to have scarcity, meaning we're going to need some sort of way of deciding how to optimally distribute existing resources.

And since we're not ants and evolved to compete for resources, competition will be had one way or another.
