I know it's really easy to dismiss every op as pants-shittingly-retarded and holy-shit-who-would-fall-for-this when you spend your time with people here but

you have to remember that "normies" are, in fact, pants-shittingly-retarded

They think newspapers and news shows are infallible and have good intentions

I know of a normie mom who panicked because someone who had read the NYTimes article on 4chan heard her boy say "based" and "pogchamp"

Literally thought he was a terrorist and called the mothers of all her boy's friend to warn them

People are really fucking stupid

Paul Baran, whose famous diagram is below, injected a decentralized vision into the internet at its birth. Decentralization made the net resilient, independent; antifragile, rhizomatic. Whatever you call it, it worked. For a while.

My work at the Filecoin Foundation will concentrate on stewarding the governance of the Filecoin ecosystem, funding critical projects around it and advocating for the future of Filecoin and its stack of decentralizing tools: IPFS, libp2p, etc.
