basically it involves rendering a scene with color codes for where textures go and then the computer reads back the screen and matches the color codes to what textures need to be there. so you can have one huge unique texture across an entire building or landscape with all sorts of graffiti and shit painted on walls and the computer just pages in what you are looking at. it's got some interesting uses too like you can read the amount of the screen a texture takes up to decide whether to load the 4-8k texture for that boot or to degrade back to 512 texels and spend the memory on the dragon you're stabbing.

but uh, texture popping.

Capitalism doesn't give perfect results. Just best results overall. Other systems just give better results to a more limited set of people.

Like sure, communism killed like 150 million people, mostly through starvation. But Stalin and Mao had pretty cool digs.

As compared to capitalism where obesity is a big problem for poor people.

No system is perfect, but capitalism gives most benefit to most people.
