@beardalaxy @KoopaTV @xianc78 To me, it looks like the same kind of thing - taking proportions intended for a completely different artstyle and lazily applying them to a new artstyle, without any concern for how much it clashes. It's "faithful" in the wrong ways, rather than attempting to find a way to make it look good with a different style, or retaining the old style, it creates an ugly half-assed mix of new and old. There are certain limitations older hardware, and certain artstyles, impose. These limitations impact game design, art design, etc; the proportions of the artstyle are an example of these sorts of limitations. The proportions work with their intended artstyle because they are part of it - a product of it. Taking those exact proportions and using them for a completely different artstyle just looks ugly and lazy. They're mindlessly copying the limitations without understanding why they were there to begin with or what purpose they served - it's just mindlessly tracing the work without understanding why it works.

BDSP were endlessly mocked for being "faithful" remakes to the point of serving 0 purpose, because they're just straight up worse than the game they're trying to remake; they're just a much, much buggier DP with an atrocious artstyle, and without any of the improvements people loved about Platinum.

This leaves 25 quests for me to complete! Definitely not going to be easy, but I'm chugging along.

Made a side quest for a jester today that involves warping to another location. You have to meet a level requirement for the quest to even show up, so it'll actually be pretty hidden. I need to add other warps as well, that you can use once the quest is complete. It might seem like this is a weird, random feature that I'm just now deciding to implement, but it has been planned for a long time now.

Important question. Last year I set up Pleroma on a Sun Ultra 45 workstation and it ran surprisingly well given the hardware age and performance. I've determined that's probably the absolute baseline for Pleroma.

This year I'm going to decide to run Pleroma on a different set of shitboxes in my basement. I have a Wyse DX0q thin client with an AMD Jaguar, some Intel Atoms, and a RISC-V SBC (some $30 allwinner one but I'll get a better one to experiment with). I also have a bunch of c2d dells that can be found dirt cheap that could serve as a metaphor for computer under your bed (as my Skype friends had back in the days, rip their brain cells).

As I have a huge stash of hardware I also can experiment with more stuff so post suggestions.

Be sure to keep eyes open for other happenings in the world. When stuff like the submarine take the internet by storm, other things happen with no attention and they get swept under the rug easily
