re: Having a really bad day thanks to capitalism.

@Guba you suck at budgeting and setting priorities and suffer the consequences of it
Spend less on entertainment and junk food and you will be fine in the long term

@TheMadPirate @xianc78 "Inheritance" tax is meant to kick down middle class families that knock on the door of wealth. Wealthy families rarely pay it. It is easy to dodge if you plan for it. Whole life insurance is a common way to dodge it. Life insurance proceeds aren't taxed, so you just put all your assets in a whole life insurance policy, and they pass untaxed to your heirs.

Income tax is also really bad because it skews incentives. Work hard, earn more, but really earn less because your tax rate just went up.

In my (very limited) experience AI is incredibly inconsistent. You can ask it the same question in a slightly different way and get a completely different output. Of course this is because it doesn't actually understand anything, it just tries to give an output that looks like it should come from the imput based on whatever training data is has. It's just the simplest form of pastern recognition and extrapolation.

@xianc78 Death Tax because it hurts the a family that just lost a loved one. It is like kicking in the head someone that's already on the floor.

The human brain takes 12W to run. The weakest useful Large Language Model takes 400W to run. It may be "better than a markov chain" but it's literally this fucking meme

Something I've noticed over the past few weeks is that a lot of shooting games incorporate puzzle elements and mechanics but the reverse is not necessarily true outside of a few outliers like Quarth/Block Hole. It seems like there's a whole fertile design space here just waiting to be explored and all someone has to do is actually be literate in both design languages and see what some of the crossovers are.

If you're feeling this way it's a sign that you're looking at life wrong. Life is supposed to be hard, but it's important to focus on and seek out the great joys that make all the suffering worth it. Moreover, you should look at yourself as an indispensable part of the great lineage of humanity, entrusted with the task of preserving and advancing the legacy of your family line. The atomized consoomer has no past to uphold or future to strive for, and thus sees life as a meaningless distraction between void and void, so of course it's gonna feel pointless if you don't understand your place in the cosmos, both in reference to God and to the rest of humanity.

I can't believe I wasn't aware of this. Perfect Dark already has a PC Port and it supports 60 FPS.

I'm trying to eat healthier, but now it's harder because my brother bought us an air-fryer, and now we basically have our own personal fast-food restaurant in our kitchen.
