Anyone who thinks the "ribbon" in Microsoft Office is somehow better is nuts and three lines to indicate a file menu is also just as crappy (looking at you Firefox). This insistence on hiding critical functionality in "modern" UI design started with Microsoft as far as I can tell around 2003. Yes- it pre-dates the "ribbon" by a long time. All I can say is LibreOffice is the FAR superior choice. Not because they offer a "ribbon"-like interface obviously, but because they offer a traditional user interface that actually works.

There is a reason people have been driven to GNU/Linux more and more with each passing year. Besides it getting better it's primarily shitty decisions by the "tech" industry, ie Microsoft, Apple, Google, etc.

Segagaga finally got a translation

It's MTL, but it seems like it's an MTL with care and extensive QA, at the very least

Did You Know Gaming just released a documentary on the WonderSwan a few days back and it got me thinking that there should be a revival of handhelds that adopt Yokoi's design philosophy.

For a while, I've had an idea of a handheld system that can be played with one hand. The d-pad or analog stick would be on the front face of the handheld and the buttons would be on the side.

I have no plans on making it, but I think there is still a market for dedicated handhelds like this. The only handheld that is doing anything like this is the Playdate and from what I can tell, it isn't very cheap.

In Super Mario Sunshine, whenever Mario is wet, he will drip small droplets of water. This is not cosmetic; in fact, Wet Mario is so powerful he can defeat the game's first boss entirely by dripping on it, skipping obtaining FLUDD altogether.

A friend, @chloetankahhui has been speaking up against the proposal to enforce age verification at the OS level, and the QRTs to this shows the extent of naivety that a lot of people have.

No one who does hardware security believes that any system is bulletproof, but do you really think that circumventing these things will always be a simple firmware mod or hardware hack?

Let's dive in. /1

Minecraft Console Edition's code got leaked on 4chan apparently, and this guy ported it over to PC with KBM support.

apparently it doesn't yet have support for saving worlds or multiplayer, but still a pretty cool thing.

Who was it who predicted the Iran two weeks back? They had a survey post and were sure it was going to happen .... they were only off by like a week.
