I think the thing that frustrates me the most about mathematics in school/university was that, to an autist, it *should* be a dream to work with. Everything has procedures and structures and if you did it right there is no opinion needed, you are either correct or incorrect.
And yet it still all falls apart because god forbid you had one bad year of math, the lack of understanding snowballs into later years if you don't catch up. And god forbid you do any sort of REAL math, you're gonna offload it to a computer anyway (every computer in the last 30 years can do all your algebras and calculuses).
People who got all bitchy about teachers/professors giving "partial credit" to math kids for getting the answer wrong but the process right didn't understand that the end result was never the point because nobody is doing this shit by hand. It's understanding how to get there. I did RSA by fucking hand with small primes in later years. Was it practical? Nope. Was the method interesting? Yep. So why bother rewarding only the right answer when the answer itself is useless and the real takeaway from these classes was the knowledge of HOW and not the end result?

I can't stress how amazing Kagi translate is

Funny how suckless software is universally shat on by neverclankers, DeVault orbiters and people generally pushing the linux phones. But somehow if you slap a different name on the same software, add some patches and host it on Sourcehut, it's suddenly kosher.
If there is one good thing to come out of the "AI derangement syndrome", it's that it has completely eclipsed the "cryptocurrency derangement syndrome", and it seems like people won't attack you for accepting crypto payments/donations anymore.

Dairy farmer Charles Goadby gives this powerful message against Ed Miliband’s “net zero at any cost” which includes drastic reductions in meat and dairy consumed. Miliband has no mandate to do this. No one voted for this.
Drew DeVault once again has no idea what he is talking about. He is now white knighting Terry Davis saying that 4chan trolls contributed to his further decline in his mental health.
We still don't know if Terry's death was from suicide or purely accidental. His further mental decline happened due to homelessness and that seemed to mostly steamed from further tensions with his father, as Terry was filming his parents and publishing the videos online without their permission, and his dad was tired of him constantly using racial slurs.
Though trolls did provoke him, Terry actually seemed to enjoy livestreaming with his audience. Most of his anger came from people he thought were incompetent, not people trying to provoke him. I don't think any of that contributed to his mental decline.
It wasn't like Chris Chan where people tried to provoke him into doing stupid shit and getting him and his family in trouble. Terry "did it to himself". He was kicked out because his Dad was sick of his behavior, got arrested at one point, and got kicked out of a library for poor hygiene just hours before his death (which may have caused him to kill himself). Terry was a ticking time bomb. He was an unemployable, mentally ill, middle aged man living with his parents who were in their 90s. Even before he got kicked out, I felt that he wouldn't last long after his parents inevitably pass.
While I can't speak for Kent Overstreet, this is another example of Drew revising stories to make it fit his agenda.

We had the worst fruit flies I've ever seen in my life a few years back. I'd feed the cats and there would be maggots within an hour. What had happened was they were dropping planeloads of genetically modified fruit flies on Los Angeles for the summer. The idea--at least as stated--was that these fruit flies were sterile but also more aggressive, so they'd mate with the females and the females would not lay eggs. This didn't work, and if you think for a minute, it should be easy to tell why.
What regulates aggression is fear. The hyperaggressive sterile fruit flies were not afraid. This meant that the birds and lizards and frogs and whatnot ate them, while leaving the regular fruit flies to mate while all of their natural predators sat around with full stomachs. Of course, they just do this shit without a "Please do not run your shit-ass psychopath experiments on my goddamn city" is not ever on the ballot and all the Whole Foods-ass "we can't have GMOs in school lunches" Karens voted in the people that did it.
This is the same thing they did for mosquitoes in Brazil and it increased the mosquito population twice. "Oops." Then, despite it failing every time it was tried and for completely goddamn obvious reasons, they got CDC approval to do it in Florida.
Bill Gates did a TED talk in 2009 where he released a jar of mosquitoes on the audience and he's had a fixation on that shit since forever. (I think it's this one: https://www.ted.com/talks/bill_gates_mosquitos_malaria_and_education ) Why he is doing it is obvious; if I had to guess why Google's doing it too, I'd suspect the same reason.
