You don't need an account to host or join a conference, you can call in to conferences on the phone, self host, and other nice features. On top of that it is fully Free Software, and there is a Free app available on F-Droid 😀

Every single person in America is blessed to live in a society with far more prosperity and opportunity than any one of us deserves thanks to the blood, sweat, and tears of those who came before us. There's no good reason why we should get to wait out a pandemic with a 99%+ survival rate in air-conditioned comfort with all manner of entertainment to pass the time, while our ancestors had to huddle in cold, dark hits in fear of plagues that could wipe out a third of the population. We all need to be more grateful.
