“Say you’ve got an older Mac that’s no longer getting security updates from Apple but you still want to use it, elementary OS is going to be a very familiar interface to you… It looks great, it’s stable, it’s updated regularly, and will run on many, many, many Macs.”

Remember how good the internet seemed in 2010 compared to now? Ok now imagine how terrible it's going to be in 2030.

“Help stop the spread of child exploitation! … but first you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to use our proprietary cloud service.” - Microsoft

Isn’t there just a public hash database somewhere? Hashes work one-direction, so you can use them to identify an image given the source, but you can’t reverse the hash to see the image. Seems like an obvious thing to publish so people can filter it.

@coolboymew @ChristiJunior Sony is a very cold and faceless corporation for a few years now. Sorry about the wall of text incoming.

The way the Vita unceremoniously died was completely their fault btw., since they insisted to repeat the same mistake they did with the PSP and tried pushing their own stupid memory card format and even doubled down so that no microSD adapter could be made. If just this little detail were different, I'm sure it would've made a giant difference.

There are more things they did that crippled the Vita. Did you know that their moronic Near service (discovering who plays what games in the place you live and such) that nobody ever used pre-occupied 30% of the 512MB of RAM? They only pushed an update disabling it in April 2015, after the Vita was 3 years on the market. So many games that could have benefitted from around 150MB of additional RAM...

And not to mention their insistence that the Vita has to be a one-user console. There was no reason whatsoever to do that except for pushing additional memory card sales, since the user profile is bound to a memory card.

And one could also argue that the Vita was also unnecessarily "premium", with its OLED screen and full glass front. I know, weird complaint, but considering that it spiked the price of the console it probably also made people hold off from buying one as well. The revised model, cheaper and with 1GB of internal memory, came two years later and too late.

Did you also know that the first premium model, the PCH-1000, had a video output that was never utilized? They probably used that one in the PlayStation TV. And of course, the PlayStation TV was still a one-user console, since they couldn't just change it.

Just imagine what could've been if Sony weren't so incredibly arrogant. They repeated mistakes they did with the PS3, when they were too full of themselves.

Right-wing extremists have been using gaming platforms for propaganda and recruitment purposes for some time. Two new initiatives are trying to counter this. Social work will soon be done not only in troubled urban areas , but also online - where gamers are mingling. Five "digital social workers" will be touring through gaming platforms such as Steam, as social scientist Mick Prinz reports.

That is all there to it. 5 Motherfuckers with Mickey Mouse degrees gonna harrass you and your frens on Steam if your are stupid enough to admit, that you from Krautland or using Originin and Uplay. Since the official website is hosted in Germany, the Webdesigner responsible for it underwent the duty of doxing his ass on behalf of their newly minted NGO (its only a thing since April). Not that it gonna protect the two named in the article alongside their professions from wannabe gum shoes.
