And especially here in Quebec and Canada, the people have been lulled and comforted for decades thinking that liberticidal governmental actions are things that happen in other, bad, countries, not here. We're too smart to let this happen here, or so the people on TV keep telling us. So we rationalize away the obvious, and call anyone who refuses to "conspiracy theorists", and project our own failure to question propaganda onto them.
