Now that you mention it, this already happens with the deaf. I've seen people legitimately argue that giving a deaf child a cochlear implant is an act of genocide against "deaf culture".

Maybe the solution to Threads is not to block it but to encourage Threads users to start their own instances. That way, Threads might be forced to comply with us or defederate instead of the other way around.
