Still working on beta 1.0.5. I'll be releasing it soon-ish. Just trying to get another playthrough in before I do, but it will at the very least be released before February. It is, so far, the largest patch so far in terms of just the amount of things that have been fixed/changed. 26 items atm.

There are some softlocks it fixes, but none that are particularly egregious. If I find something that's REALLY BAD then I'll push the update forward immediately.

God's Disdain has 296 wishlists on Steam! Wow! That's actually really incredible and much more than I thought it'd get. Can we get just 4 more to push it to 300? That would be awesome!

There is now a native Linux version of God's Disdain! I'm still looking for testers, so if anyone is interested in helping out send a message and I'll get you a key.

For those who are unaware, God's Disdain is a ~25 hour non-linear RPG. It utilizes 2D graphics and features a rich world with lots of quests, unique NPCs, and dungeons. Inspirations are mainly Dragon Quest and Elder Scrolls.

God's Disdain launches March 14th (9 AM Pacific) and will be free to play! It has no DRM and no file encryption.

It is a passion project that started development in October of 2015, and I am very excited for more people to play it!

God's Disdain - Beta 1.0.4 Patch Notes

-Made sure to include the JS folder in the update this time. Whoops. This will fix the new Story added to Tamiko's house.
-Added a timeskip message in the intro before the battle scene.
-Kazuhiko's body now has text if interacted with.
-Altered text in the battle scene of the intro.
-Decreased amount of necessary EXP to level up for Rogues.
-Increased starting amount of SP for Mages.
-The bottom middle house in Kusa Town now has text for its useless door when interacted with.
-Kusa Town's weapon shop will no longer teleport you to Carivor Village.

God's Disdain - Beta 1.0.3 Patch Notes

-Fixed collision in Dokutsu Town.
-Added a Story to Tamiko's house in the parents' bedroom. If you have already started your playthrough, you will be able to return and read it.
-Added instructions on how to view and change your current controls after the intro.

God's Disdain - Beta 1.0.2 Patch Notes

-Added the description for each State to Takao at the Training Dojo in Komura.
-Changed the default Equipment screen to Yanfly's Equip Core.

The beta for God's Disdain is ready! I'm going to be collecting user info for testing now, so please sound off in the comments or send a DM if you'd like to participate!

Requirements:
1. Steam account
2. Windows PC (OS version 7+)

Expectations:
1. Bug reports
2. Combat balance feedback
3. General feedback
4. (Optional) Game session journals

You will be able to make content about the game (streams, videos, screenshots) as long as you clarify in a place that is clearly visible that the game is still in beta testing.

Testing will primarily occur in the RPG Maker Web forums topic for the game. If you have an RPG Maker Web account, that is the preferred method of reporting. However, if you're on the fediverse then simply tagging this account (@aftermidnight) or sending a DM will suffice. Patch notes will be posted and maintained on RPG Maker Web: forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.p

You will receive your Steam key for the game within the next couple of weeks. Please keep in mind that as the game is free, I cannot promise much in the way of incentive for testing and I understand that it might be a lot to ask. However, your name will appear in the credits if you provide any feedback at all!

If there are any more questions you have, feel free to reach out!

Come check out the new and improved trailer for God's Disdain! I received lots of criticism that it was too long, especially at the beginning, so I took out the starting story cutscene and trimmed it up a bit in order to fit it within a minute-long trailer. I also tried to adjust audio levels a bit better this time so I hope that turned out well.

There are a couple new things in here as well, so please enjoy!

Details about the beta test for God's Disdain which is coming soon!

Please reply to this post or send a DM after reading if you are interested in beta testing the game! If you have any questions, also feel free to ask.

The game will be free, so I can't promise any extra goodies or what have you, but your chosen name will at least make it in the credits if you ever submit feedback or bug reports.

The desired feedback will be any bug reports as well as session journals describing how your play session went. You don't have to do both, as long as there is feedback happening. What won't be accepted much are feature requests, as the game is considered feature-full at this point. If it's something that's braindead easy that I just forgot to add or whatever, I won't mind adding things like that into the game (for example, arrows on the quest log menu).

A Steam account will be required, as will a copy of Windows (8-11). I will likely not be maintaining a version of the game for Linux and it doesn't work well on Steam Deck without tweaking some things that break other things. However, if you are unable or unwilling to use anything else, I can at least try to provide an unofficial Linux build that can be updated by the end user manually. I just can't promise that any Linux-specific bugs will be fixed. Later down the line, when the game is released and I'm sure it is in a stable condition, I will look into porting it to Linux officially.

Creating content relating to the game will be allowed as long as you include a disclaimer that it is a beta as well as what version of the beta you are currently playing.

ICYMI, here is the reveal trailer for the game so you know a bit more what you're getting yourself into: youtube.com/watch?v=raDv4aYw-x
