I'm no fan of Elon Musk/Trump and am not a left-wing nut job either, and I never post memes, but this was just too funny not to pass on. Elon Musk posted a hilarious meme about buying the extremest left-wing MSNBC news outlet. Just in case there are some out there who aren't aware Elon Musk is a billionaire who purchased Twitter and changed its name to X. Elon's companies are also all heavily dependent on government hand outs making him a bit of a left-wing socialist for corporate interests, and also kinda funny that he'll be working to cut government waste as part of his new job under the Trump administration in the new "Department of Government Efficiency" which is suppose to cut all that waste.

@bot @sun If you report your income correctly on your taxes, there is nothing illegal about possessing or trading XMR or any other currency with an anonymous ledger, it's just exchanges that are hyper-regulated in the United States. That's my understanding anyway.

Obviously, you could do something illegal with it, but it's no different than doing so with cash.

I offer hosted apps like Nextcloud and Gitea. I have at least two clients using those that I host for them.

I agree about the tactic of "be the change you want to see".

people who scream murder about elons satellites polluting the night sky are shilling for wind turbines.

elons satellites will de-orbit after some years. wind turbines don't de-orbit and burn up. there will be ruins everywhere.

I honestly don't think the Funko Pop collector stereotype is even real, and I'm not defending Funko Pops. I hate them, but I mostly see them given away as prizes in arcades or bowling alleys. I never met anyone who is an avid collector of them.

Self-serving governments involved in Big Energy don’t want you to know about certain highly effective alternative energy technologies.

I don't think most Americans share any common enemies with that psycho. Thiel was one of the massive initial investors in Facebook. He's part of the "PayPal Mafia" with Musk. Palantir's only customer for the first years of its existence was the CIA (same as Oracle).

It's going to be interesting to see what crazy shit he's going to push through his JD Vance puppet.

Right, but I've heard claims that Trump's primary backer, Peter Thiel is the greatest libertarian hero ever, even though he has tons of deep state connections (read James Corbett's recent series of essays if you want to learn more) and buys politicians which is something libertarians are supposed to be against.

Yes, the libertarian movement should call out frauds like LP candidates, Gary Johnson and Chase Oliver, but I almost never see any of them call out technocrats like Peter Thiel or Elon Musk who LARP as libertarians (or some other niche ideology like populist) to make themselves look like one of the good guys.

Also, people (including libertarians) are putting WAY too much faith in Trump and his cabinet, thinking that he will actually drain the swamp this time, even going as far as claiming that Musk will end the fed. That is a very huge ask and that is not going down easily, even if Trump is truly on our side.

"Microsoft Office, like many companies in recent months, has slyly turned on an “opt-out” feature that scrapes your Word and Excel documents to train its internal AI systems. This setting is turned on by default, and you have to manually uncheck a box in order to opt out.

If you are a writer who uses MS Word to write any proprietary content (blog posts, novels, or any work you intend to protect with copyright and/or sell), you’re going to want to turn this feature off immediately.

I won’t beat around the bush. Microsoft Office doesn’t make it easy to opt out of this new AI privacy agreement, as the feature is hidden through a series of popup menus in your settings:

On a Windows computer, follow these steps to turn off “Connected Experiences”: File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings > Optional Connected Experiences > Uncheck box: “Turn on optional connected experiences”"

That's also really REALLY tricky to pull off.
You can abolish agencies like the DOE and ATF tomorrow and nobody would blink. The FDA and USDA could be stripped of their powers and privatized as "industry groups".

But the FED and IRS are really tricky to abolish because they're the funding arm of the whole beast. The income tax might be possible to replace with something more simple like a VAT (with tariffs helping of course), but can't be abolished easily because there's a national debt to pay down.

Of course there's another path, where they just rug-pull the USD and monetize Bitcoin so their debt vanishes, but again, that means destroying THE ENTIRE WORLD FINANCIAL SYSTEM and probably triggering WW3. It would have to be done very carefully, to say the least.

Will Trump (or any of his cabinet) fulfill any of his promises this time?
