PHP is a "cockroach language" that is never going to die. It is popular because it is dead simple to learn and does a better job of helping new developers get started, as it is available everywhere, including on $1 hosting platforms 😉

"I was over 11 years in prison, I met great many people there. I can safely say that over half don't have business there. They can be released just like me and are no imminent threat to other people. They are decent man." - Ross Ulbricht youtu.be/uVt1_SN-ATk?si=IE5WIj

As it turns out, the latest version of MySQL has support for JSON, bringing the best of both relational databases and document-oriented databases, and I can run this all on a simple LAMP server. That's good to know.

@lunduke no, Bryan. It won't fix shit. Government propaganda bots will be the first to get that verification and people with unpopular opinions like yourself will be the first to be denied the right to post anything.

Then again, you too might be an AI bot for all I know.

"The app lets women anonymously post photos of men, along with stories of their alleged experience with them, and ask others for input."

Back in my day, gossip was done in person, truly we have fallen as a society.

>Decide to restart Indie Storefront Project after the Steam and Itch controversies
>Decide to use a NoSQL DB this time because nested SQL statements make my brain hurt
>Both MongoDB and CouchDB have repositories that lack release files which makes them insecure and disabled by default on apt
>The only other solution I can think of is Elasticsearch which isn't intended to be used as a DB.

@flamperbr96@baraag.net You can easily convert any other Crypto to Monero and vise versa. I suggest using a service like https://Trocador.app/ They are the ones i'd recommend.

I also have a tutorial for setting up a Monero wallet here.
https://crippled.media/article/why-you-should-use-monero-to-pay-and-get-paid-for-controversial-content-and-how-to-do-it.-aka-a-cripples-guide-to-monero

If you follow this tutorial and start accepting crypto for commissions. I'll even send you a little Monero to your address, simply for accepting commissions with it.

“I buy avocados that are grown in Mexico and shipped to the UK.”

“I buy tomatoes that are grown in Morocco and shipped to the UK.”

“I buy quinoa that is grown in Bolivia and shipped to the UK.”

"Red meat from local UK farmers should be reduced. It’s bad for the planet.”

🤷‍♂️

I think maybe I could use Elasticsearch as a NoSQL database as it's now FOSS.

At least this would be less confusing than using nested SQL statements.

@Humpleupagus @pepsi_man — that’s why we’re inclined to call it home education rather than homeschooling. ;) I’ve no desire to turn our learning environment into a replica of government institutions.

Although, we do utilize traditional school-like methods if it suits our needs and gets us where we want to go. For example, Kahn Academy has at times been popular around here, especially when someone is wanting a better understanding of how to use math.

if any adult-oriented platforms come up in the wake of this they are going to have to accept crypto only and THAT is what will thrust crypto into mainstream use. just wait. maybe now would be a good time to buy if you think that's going to happen.

the only way that doesn't happen i think is if some government out there decides that payment processors can't decide what people can and can't buy with their own money. the notion that they CAN control that is already just so fucked up.

Though I think the best and long-term solution is to just create a web framework that allows people to self host their games while also providing payment options without having to implement that stuff manually.

Like I said earlier, I don't think porn games will go away. They have always been niche and most of them were self-hosted for this very reason. Games like Sociolotron required you to purchase the game directly from their website. Other games were purchased via mail-order. I think we will simply go back to the former.

With itch now censoring porn games, I kind of want to restart work on that one indie game hosting site that I was working on, but I really hate working with databases and if I want to include payment, I would have to do it with crypto, which I have no experience from a dev standpoint, and I would have to do a bunch of research on the current legality of crypto in various parts of the world.

Buried in Proton's AI announcement today is a pretty shocking detail about their service 👀

Because of legal uncertainty around Swiss government proposals to introduce mass surveillance — proposals that have been outlawed in the EU — Proton is moving most of its physical infrastructure out of Switzerland. Lumo will be the first product to move.

I repeat:

In 1971 the federal minimum wage was $1.60 per hour

That’s 1.82 oz of gold per week in 40 hours

Today that would translate to approx $150.00 per hour and $6000

That’s what

they

stole from Americans
