Luke Smith was half-right about everyone on the Internet being a loser. I think people who use the Internet for creativity and other stuff are NOT losers. It's just that the Internet lost that creativity and instead people resort to arguing about politics, obsessing over "lowcows", reposting memes created by someone else, or posting nothing but porn on their feeds.
Those people are losers, but the few people who use it for things other than that will be remember much more fondly than some gen-Z, far-right, political commentator living in their mother's basement.
@mangeurdenuage @phnt @maid @newt part of what made the podcast types on poa.st/elsewhere get mocked (and why that crowd became irrelevant) has to do with this.
They're all about making jokes, telling you shit sucks, and that you should give them money to tell you shit sucks. To quote one website, "The fate of western civilization will be decided by the e-daddy with the largest Patreon."
That's what it boils down to and nothing summed it up harder than the whole GG shit going on. The fact far more people from that movement became e-pundits instead of being gamedevs is telling. I've mixed up Luke Smith, Lunduke, and others in my mind because they fit the mold of "e-daddy who wants money".
Minish Cap's PC port is in the works! I don't like this game very much but I hope that one day we can have a PC port of every classic Zelda game. That would really be something cool.

Ok, fellow hackers, I propose a pact: That new EU age verification app thingy ... do NOT help improve it.
Don't publish findings. Don't responsibly disclose insecurities. Don't facilitate them making it bulletproof.
If personal data is directly at risk, by all means, slam their asses into the ground. GDPR them into oblivion.
But on its core functionality this needs to be, to become, and to stay, the most insecure, the most easily circumventable piece of shit code on the planet.
@EUCommission If it is for parents to raise their children, then why is age verification needed at all? Parents have all the tools they need already - most devices come with parental controls, and of course they can decide when to give devices at all.
A week late, but finally some good news.
"H.R.8250 - Parents Decide Act"
The US government and masses who support these age attestation and/or verification bills can go fuck themselves. I've been saying that a lot lately. hmm
Basically this is one of a handful of proposed bills that would mandate the speech of developers to include a component that enables nefarious regulations. This is straight out of George Orwell's 1984. It's surveillance of all devices (age does NOT matter here) and in 1984 they were called telescreens installed in every room of people's homes. These two-way devices broadcast propaganda and allow the Thought Police to watch and listen to citizens at all times.
It's not the core component, but what it enables that is the problem. This happened in the UK with similar legislation. Non-MS/Apple users can't access half the web.
The crazy thing is there are potential solutions to these problems, legal or otherwise, but at the end of the day it just shows they have little other purpose than harming everyone.
You don't need an internet connection to have access to a wide array of content that is 'harmful' to minors. Before the internet kids would often pass around their dad's playboys/anarchist cookbooks/etc. Today's equivalent of this is passing around a drive with a significant chunk of the internet on it. More content than anyone could ever hope to explore.
There is also this thing called cryptocurrency, foreign made product, and an underground market.
In Cuba and North Korea we already see this. Despite the internet being non-existent Cubans and North Koreans still have access to a large portion of the same content Americans do.
Europe already has laws since the GDPR passed that results in US news and foreign sites being inaccessible.

I think you underestimate his role. This has obviously been a very long-con. People were not stupid to side with the only president in my living history that seemed to be against war expansion, even as he "drained the swam" by appointing all the swamp creatures that cause the 2008 collapse in his first administration.
Everything has been intentionally constructed to divide. The vast majority of people in the middle, the libertarian and independent types, did not want war and feel the recent actions are a radical departure. However, they're not going to protest next to people who told them they had to force medicate and mask up during an obvious psychological operation; neither do those people who are for child sex hormones want to be standing next to people they consider "nazis". The fake left/right divide blames the other side for voting for x when both of the past two leaders have been intentionally ineffective, backed by the same international intelligence agencies.
Trump is like George W. They're not as stupid as people think. They're very aware of the role they are playing in Neo-conservative regime change, Israeli expansionism and the intentional collapse of the global economy in order to enact more authoritarianism and surveillance in all nations.
