@Sabex On one hand Russia keeps dumping cannon fodder into the conflict. On the other hand Ukraine is doing the same, but are dying at lower rate. While Russia can go on via conscription, Ukraine is scrambling to pull/extradite draft dodgers from other parts of Europe.

Russia has a lot of expensive and barely maintained and kitted hardware, where Ukraine is getting all the toys to play with.

The question is if Ukraine can keep the pressure up and be able to outlast Russia's ongoing attacks, while they are able to do so now, I honestly doubt Ukraine can keep this up. Next year we'll how a nation gets subject to Russia.

@nukie @LukeAlmighty
Pretty much this. A heavily mutilated and ancient game engine from the previous century may not be the best choice when it comes to simulating and rendering game worlds at a planetary scale.

@LukeAlmighty I got the same impression when it came to the covid-19 vaccines. It was presented as the solution by media and politics, that was faultless and would work correctly, instantly, and forever just perfectly. As if it was a product you would buy from the supermarket, or like an app from the appstore on your phone.

Knowing just a tiny bit of the human body, and the complexity of developing vaccines, you knew from the get go this wouldn't be the case.

Everything, and everybody that should look out for their constituents ran with it, everybody who spoke against it were silenced and/or shamed.

@LukeAlmighty Then hop over to EFTA and do the thing that actually makes Europe strong: Trade.

@LukeAlmighty While I agree with the messaging in this clip, it using the same song the EU uses as its "anthem" (Beethoven's Ode to Joy iirc). Lets destroy the USSR and replace it with the EUSSR! :blobunamused:

@Aldo2 So the whole cannon fodder cycle, do you have any articles on this I can show my normie friends that make their conspiracy alarm bells go off?

@alex What do they mean with "Trans friendly"? Are the admins okay with trannies, or do the "anti-fascist" demand compliance from its users too?

@Sabex there was a time and place to make 10 hours a day of jumps in a shitty asp to the center, kolonia, and back.. but these days are now long gone...

@djsumdog What is with the bike helmet? Are you an amateur or something?

The downsides of being frugal.

The #OpenStreetMap Foundation spends, even with a slightly more ambitious budget this year than previously, less than %1 of what WMF/Wikipedia does, but is struggling to make ends meet.

There is no threat a la the infamous Wikipedia ads that the project will shut down, but without the funds activities will have to be cut back significantly.
