I just realized that in less than two months, it will be Undertale's 10th anniversary, so allow me to remind you that Toby Fox is a talentless fucking hack that does not deserve a fraction of the fame and fortune he received from his meme game.
Seriously, name one other person who went viral on their first try (Undertale was his first video game outside of ROM hacks) while using a program that many of us messed with back in elementary school or middle school.
Not only that but he got to Japan, take over Sakurai's Famistu column, and have his sequel be featured in the Nintendo Switch 2's trailer. I find this all ironic because Toby Fox was previously a ROM hacker, which is usually a big no-no in Nintendo's eyes, but they let this all slide.
And what is special about Undertale, really? The pacifist mechanics? Many JRPGs had pacifist mechanics since the original Phantasy Star. The quirky and memorable characters? I can name a thousand games with just as many "quirky and memorable" characters if not more.
No, the only reason why it ever got popular was because of his friends on the Starmen forums along with Earthbound's popularity becoming mainstream thanks to it being released on the Wii U VC around the same time. If it weren't for that, I highly doubt it would have ever gotten insanely popular.
the last thing the target audience wants to see (and what's most important, I don't want to see) in magical girls genre is the unholy trio of burps, farts, and gross behavior
so-called grown ups are still throwing tantrums over periods being hinted at in Turning Red, but have no problem forcing this shit that's meant for boys to laugh at (because boys are stupid) literally everywhere
