When will the West have its own Great Patriotic War?

I sometimes daydream about fighting and dying for a noble cause.

Living after is not as important to me as involving myself in a conflict of that scale. One would be a total coward not to.

The German government is calling the two-tier system they're imposing on people an example of "solidarity".

You couldn't find another clearer example of "newspeak" coming to life than that.

@Synclair WTF DO YOU MEAN?!?!?!

WE'RE THE GOOD GUYS!!

WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT!!?!?!?

@beardalaxy @matana @BlinkRape my cat likes to wrap herself around my ass to stay warm...

Also, she's a rescue from the wild, so don't question why she has raptor claws. Can't try and do anything about it, because then she'll try going for my eyes.

@matana @beardalaxy @BlinkRape thank you for the wholesome vid.

Faith in humanity levels have increased from 0.1 to 5/100.

It's something...

@beardalaxy @BlinkRape fair enough, I agree in a sense.

One thing I do find interesting as well is that to view both ISIS videos and....Other videos...is considered "illegal" (at least in the country I reside in), and yet most people know all about ISIS videos; probably quite a few have seen them in full (as opposed to clips from the news). Not like the authorities are going aroud arresting people all the time for watching an execution video.

Regarding the other ones, I think the reason they're much less talked about, and that there is much more of a desire to get authorities involved, is that, as I said, there's a mix of consensual/benign videos and non-consensual ones.

People simply don't want to aknowledge that there are cases where there is actual consent (amazing as it may seem). It has to be black and white. Good and bad.

The world is gray.

@BlinkRape @beardalaxy

Final thought:

The things I've seen highlight the different "flavors" (lets call it that) of humanity.

You can see cowardice, but also admirable defiance in ISIS execution videos, for example. There's one I remember where a guy literally spits in the face of the person with the knife. Real King shit.

You can also see two individuals engaging in consensual intimate "activity", but you can also see individuals engaging in clearly non-consensual non-intimate "activity".

I feel that, having seen the worst (and I really mean the worst, I find I cannot overstate that) of humanity, I can't consider myself a truly "good person". My friends say I'm a good guy; I've never wronged them, or really anyone.

In my mind, a truly "good" person is one who has retained their innocence, but I have precious little innocence left.

@BlinkRape @beardalaxy indeed.

I don't think people take the phrase "if you can imagine it, it's probably been done" to heart.

Maybe I just think too much about things...

@beardalaxy thing is, videos like that I've basically become desensitized to.

I used to spend my days (when I was writing my Master's thesis) smoking weed and watching the latest Combat Footage compilation on Liveleak.

There'd be stuff there like the execution of people who surrendered, the raiding of towns/villages, where people would go house to house and murder anyone and everyone in the building, etc... etc...

When you watch those videos from a neutral perspective, you can appreciate things like tactics, gear set-up, how to lead people in combat etc...

In regards to other stuff I've seen, it's not like I can appreciate it really from a neutral, outside perspective, or, at least, it's uncommon that I can.

@matrix I can't even watch a fucking documentary on WW1 without having to upload a bank card or scan a photo-ID.

Fuck this shit, mayne.

All my rn hate Jootube.

I sometimes think that I've seen too much. Obv I haven't seen absolutely everything, but at this point I think I've seen enough.

Some things I just can't get out of my head, no matter how hard I try. The images are just burned in; engraved in.

They'll pop up every now and again, at random times. And I basically have to sit there in a weird paralysis while I try to think hard to rationalize why the image/memory is there in the first place.

I doubt most people would get it...

Woke up early, went for a smoke early, worked out early, just so I could start my later workshift without even having my daily schedule completed.

I'm basically just sitting here doing nothing atm.

Bored. Watching Youtube.

I will now proceed to try working out while technically still being on the clock for the next half-hour.

Don't tell my boss.
