I see they burned him already... :omegalul:

Only because when you start arguing with me, I can use a translator :ablobcool:

@somercet @matana
Specifically, you asked this:

> Would you like one that had been hacked apart/together by the local gear head street rat, or one that was factory original and faultlessly maintained?

And while I do understand, that you were talking about the maintanance level related to each option, I just cannot ignore the fact, that I would go for the custom one every time. It just seems to be the better option.

And yes, I also understand, that a standardized hardware is a great benefit for developers. But calling that "console" seems truly damaging, because of the horrible stigma of bad practices most consoles have.

So don't get insulted that I didn't include the "I agree with" part of the comment FFS.

@bakubased @matana
Just wait till you see Slovak people. They talk to you in Slovak, and get insulted when you don't understand them...

@matana People were surprised when I mentioned that I'm originally from Canada but lived half my life in the USA.

One person, with complete seriousness, said "say something Canadian!"

People are morons.

@somercet @matana
Interesting question, but since I do not plan on repaiting my steam decks on mass, I don't realy care.

On the other hand, the ability to fix my things myself is truly important.

To come back to your analogy, if buying a sserialized car means, that heated seats or remote locks will be locked behind a monthly pay, while custom car will have heaters breaking a few rules, capable of heating up the car even in Russia, then I will obviously preffer the custom one.

Locked OS of game consoles is a tool to lock away multiplayer. Something, that should never have been legal in the first place.
