In our society there is a large focus on taking in the sick and afflicted, and making them feel comforted.
However, nobody focuses on the part where you're supposed to heal. Mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Just like your body recovering from an illness, it's not comfortable to heal. We stake so much on comfort that the sickness grows until, eventually, you become comforted by the sickness and it envelopes you.

I love my grandma.
She's so old fashioned, and does still live in the old world. This helps me see a glimpse of what used to be before all the modern chaos.
But, there is one weird thing she does, that makes me question just how bad the world used to be. Sometimes, we have an argument. That is human. But, what is truly weird is, that after an argument, she sometimes tries to re-open it in a manipulative way, assuming, that if she implies, that I had thought about it and I absolutely agree with her now, that I will just accept it...
It's cute, since I don't live with her, but what kind of mind apace do you have to be in, to reopen an argument with an insult of such a scale?
