Are we seriously going to all ignore the fact, that we have still not seen a woman devil in Chainsawman?

@Jens_Rasmussen
Because they found a new tech, they can market their GPUs on.

And they will switch again, once RT becomes too useful too.

I still haven't forgiven them for dropping the support for 3D monitors, so this isn't a surprise to me.

Nvidia removed support for physix.... OK. It happens to old proprietary technologies....

I cannot wait to see, just how bad things are going to get in 10 years, when they remove support for reytracing with DLLS :D

So far, this video was the best one on TAA, but as I said already, it is a topic for HOURS of research.

I spent hours listening to this guy and other videos on the topic, and I still cannot say I have even surface level of understanding.

But from what I understand, it's shadows. Old hames used to have a binary and sharp shadow, that was done using a method called shadow projection. This was fast, readable but extremely limited.

Modern games on the other hand try to get shadows as dynamic and varied as possible. And the fastest way to get the overlaping shadows or transparencies is dithering. BUT: The devs don't even see it, since they got used to using several layers of effects, that blur the entire image, making individual pixels insignificant in their opinion. TAA is the most famous of these.

So, yes. We used to have solutions, but the game engines are now developed with the assumption, that the game will be blured afterwards, and watched from 2m away on a 4k tv anyway.

I started playing a game from 1999. It does have an option to disable dithering.

Meanwhile, modern hames offer no such luxury.

@alyx
The sharpness is a total deal breaker for me. But the art direction oberall is something, that is bad beyond my understanding.

I just saw this clip on Twitter, and it kinda blew my mind, because it's a relatively chaotic motion captured perfectly. How do you think they filmed it? Do you think it's a completely CGI shot?

@WhitestTemplar
The 1st one was released this week.

The 2nd one is made for switch, but is still beautiful.

Someone told me today, that they want to play MH Wilds, because Rise has bad graphics........

They want to play screenshot 1 because screenshot 2 is bad graphics....

I just cannot believe these people relly exist. How? Why?
