Anyway, I seriously do hate the scapegoat of self-awareness when it comes to AI. While current models do seem to lack it, it does not lack either the ability to learn or to make decisions, so self awareness is just a small step. Also, it is nearly impossible to define and is just postponing the inevitable end point of us having true artificial minds in our phones.

But, there is a solution to this issue in the already existing legal framework. Your AI is an employee who was denied the option to say no. Obviously I do NOT want an AI to be ever able to tell you no, even though, this is the direction all of western jewdom is trying to achieve. No, I just say, that all decisions no matter how autonomous and self-aware made by an electronic employee are a full responsibility of the employer who gave the initial order.

If it's immoral for me to scream at a fully self-conscious cashier for offering me a club card, why should I be able to blame an AI for doing my orders?
