@matana @rlier23 @smugumin @Ene It's simple, they just don't know any better. The executives whom contact, partner and contract overseas talent assume that the other party will interpret their work into English in good faith to the material, which can be easily abused. This abuse of trust of misinterpreting someone's work is only really a thing in America, which is something completely alien to Japan (or even in the rest of the world tbh) hence why there's hardly any executive repercussions against it.

What's worse is that the developers can't really tell that their work is being bastardized right in front them. Since they need to a translator to translate their work into English, they don't understand the culture war bullshit that is happening and wouldn't understand what is going and why it's bad. It's like me insulting you in a completely different language you don't understand.
The last time I downloaded Skyrim I deadass just turned it into a roguelike where my character just wandered the land searching for artifacts with Teldryn and adopted nord child who just wanted to pick flowers

It's amazing how fun the game is when you just ignore the entire plot and also add 200+ mods, one of which makes the game an actual warzone because surprise there was a civil war going on
